The next location we were looking to move into wasn’t ready yet; license. Agreements and permits were not in place by the time we had to leave our previous home base. The idea of shutting down just wasn’t an option. No one wanted us to stop offering programs, but we also could not find any other local farm or landowner who wanted to take on our students on a daily basis. It’s ...

They laughed and nodded and I could picture them at home, planting with such industry. They understood what it was for, what it meant to plant something that lasts. So they were taking the dandelions and lovingly transplanting them into the edible perennial garden we’d just made together, because they wanted dandelions to be a part of that. Partly to ea...

https://edupals.wordpress.com/about
Home-school, adult and after school tutoring. My mission is to help my students understand more, read more, enjoy learning more. I help them both to learn well independently, and feel comfortable and confident in school. My interests and my life: Every day I do some gardening, draw a little, take a walk in our woods, play with my dogs and cats, look at the stars. My favorite things as child were reading and writing and acting, but science and math have also become great friends of mine.

Small steps towards a big difference. Digging in the Dirt: The Story of Raven. Comfort in the meantime →. The education building of the future – now! July 12, 2014. Earth School began with me dreaming of a place where nature and the arts and academics could all be integrated for children. Instead of staring out the window wishing they were outdoors (like I did in school! They really could be. What would it feel like to learn inside of a structure like that, where it wasn’t like going backwards in time, b...

Small steps towards a big difference. Not just a school, but an evolving school of thought. The education building of the future – now! Digging in the Dirt: The Story of Raven. June 21, 2014. Raven has been part of Earth School’s nature-based programs. My reaction was, YES! Yes, this is Nature! Because at that moment I knew she had connected, that the understanding had dropped in to the whole of herself, that everything she was studying was real. Mother Nature? She asked quietly. Yes! 8211; can have such...

Four times a day, cookies and juice, for 10 20 days. Sometimes, a ham sandwich, at most once a day. There are no showers, no change of clothes., no way of taking care of their own hygiene. So what is the value of care and comfort, if only for a week or a day? Happy, one girl smiled. Free, said one boy. Peaceful, said another. It reminds m...Enter you...
