Friday, September 11, 2009. The Final Countdown *cue awesome music*. Having said that, I feel like just winging it. It'd be so much easier, right? Even when I'm letting go of all that I know, God will never let go of me. . I have to trust that God is faithful and doesn't lose sight of me and my heart's desires. And this is what I'm hoping for. Chasing Sunsets: September 2008
http://nickleburycreek.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2008. I promise, one of these days I will be strong. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. - John 14:1. I wish sometimes I could just go back to October of my freshman year and just believe in you like I used to. When I felt you so deep inside me that I was infectious with joy. Do you remember that? Two nights ago I feel like I confronted myself with the scariest question that I could ever have, one I can not answer and one that leaves me longing. If it...

Chasing Sunsets: September 2009

Monday, September 14, 2009. Landing in London, my first reactions. Oh good Lord, it is one crowded city! Ok, granted, should have expected this from one of the world's biggest cities, but boy, I was a little surprised. I love my midget hotel room. Its so different for me that I'm just getting used to it, I go from the peaceful, spacious Colorado to the hustle and bustle of London. It's like being on two different planets. . Chasing Sunsets: “Beyond the Neon Lights”
http://nickleburycreek.blogspot.com/2010/01/beyond-neon-lights.html
Sunday, January 3, 2010. 8220;Beyond the Neon Lights”. Here's a poem that I wrote about London and the impressions it had on me. It seems dark, but it really isn't. its more just my realistic interpretation with a touch of creative imagination added in. The grains of history stain these. This city’s grit grinds between grimy fingertips,. Crust falling in the wrinkles of skin. This is (soak it in). Silent squalls of the employed move like. Brush-strokes swept across a canvas. Whispering, shouting,. Wunder...

Chasing Sunsets: November 2008
http://nickleburycreek.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 9, 2008. An old woman sits alone,. Swinging on her front porch swing,. Watching highway cars pass, tiny specks of shimmering color. Her eyes are sepia. Radiance fading like tea-stained paper. Her eyes stare into the prairie’s grassy depths. No squinting or blinking, the sun burns her pupils. Her face etched with the Plains, she chews the grit between her teeth. Sandpaper wrinkles give texture to sagging skin. Her hair is soft, white like the feathers she plucked for her pillow.

Chasing Sunsets: July 2008
http://nickleburycreek.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2008. In Columbia of all places. Can you believe it? Everyone will not be hanging out all the time. I may not see people for days. . Everyone will be busy. Will I continue to have this hope and this joy even if my social life changes? If there's one thing I hope that I have gotten out of this summer, I am praying that it I will learn by now that I have the strength within me to recover and move on. I am praying that I have learned by now that God will love and need me and provide. So tha...
