Scully's Blog Spot: Nudging Towards Tidier Parks
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2009/11/nudging-towards-tidier-parks.html
Friday, November 06, 2009. Nudging Towards Tidier Parks. A few days ago, I posted a video. Which showed Volkswagen's brilliant way of encouraging people to use the stairs instead of an escalator. They have been at it again with 'The world's deepest bin', encouraging people to throw their litter away. The results speak for themselves. Friday, November 06, 2009. Scully's Blog Spot: An Economics Primer Sponsored by Amstel
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2011/05/economics-primer-sponsored-by-amstel.html
Friday, May 27, 2011. An Economics Primer Sponsored by Amstel. Suppose that once a month, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all of them comes to £100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes and claim State benefits, it would go something like this;. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free but what about the other six men; the paying customers? 8220;That’s true! 8221; shouted the seventh man&...

Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Peers Getting Their Pleasure. Working in the Houses of Parliament often throws up something new and something surprising. A number of us were slightly perturbed when we saw this on one of the screens known as annunciators which lets everyone know what is happening in the House of Lords. Thanks to the BBC website. I can tell you that it is not as fruity as it might suggest. The Lords has a dinner break and if nothing else is happening, they will 'adjourn during pleasure.

Scully's Blog Spot: March 2013
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 21, 2013. New address for Scully's Blog Spot. I still seem to be getting a good few page views despite not having posted here for a while. Since finishing my term as a councillor in 2010, I have worked for the Reading West MP, Alok Sharma and now set up my own business, Nudge Factory Ltd. I am still involved in the community in Sutton and have recently been selected as the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Sutton and Cheam at the next General Election. Thursday, March 21, 2013.

Scully's Blog Spot: No Votes For Prisoners
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2011/02/no-votes-for-prisoners.html
Wednesday, February 23, 2011. No Votes For Prisoners. There has been a lot written about whether prisoners should get the vote and what we should do about the European Court of Human Rights. Both of these are highly emotive issues and so it is important that we look at the facts and respond in a sustainable manner. There is no point kicking off about something if the Government will end up having to comply anyway. So the Court says that it is up to Parliament to decide on whether we should give prisoners...

Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Big Society: Less Talk, More Action. Last Sunday, I led a group of local students to clear a Carshalton school sports pitch of rubbish. The four Year 8 pupils from Wallington High School for Girls helped me clear the Camden Junior pitch in Carshalton in order to show that they were active in their community for a school project, collecting several large bags of rubbish and 2 fire extinguishers along the way. Sunday, August 29, 2010. Sutton Council Just Don't Get It - Part 1. From the Council which gave you £25k totem poles. Sited opposite a cash-strapped hospital, comes the latest wheeze in how to spray taxpayers' money around on 'art'. Lest we forget within the apparent benefits. For this £3million splurge of your cash was the statement. Wider footways, better road crossings and less clutter will create a people-friendly zone.". We are still waiting for the 'green wall'. The north end of the High Street wil...

Monday, October 25, 2010. Paying People To Hang Around On High Street. The headline act 'Trans Expresse'. Were a French troupe of drummers whose piece de resistance was to attach themselves to one of the biggest cranes in London and drum in middair on a giant children's mobile. This was witnessed by about 250 people on a cold, dark Friday evening. That'll be £162.50 per person to watch someone hanging around on Sutton High Street, something people can do for free on most days. Monday, October 25, 2010.

Scully's Blog Spot: Life Centre or Life Sentence?
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2009/04/life-centre-or-life-sentence.html
Wednesday, April 08, 2009. Life Centre or Life Sentence? A picture of an ostrich just didn't cut the mustard when writing about the latest on the controversial £8million Sutton Life Centre. As expected, Sutton's senior LibDem councillors queued up to sing the praises of the Sutton Life Centre. If the project falls short of its income target by 20%, the Council will have to find £95,000 each year to keep the place open. The conditions of the grant mean that if the Council sell the building or cha...Since,...
