St. Mel Music Ministry: December 2012
http://stmel-music.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Dance Halls in the 1940's. One of my fondest childhood memories is watching my Dad foxtrot with my Mom across our living room floor. What good dancers they were! In Los Angeles, the most popular dance hall was the Palomar Ballroom on Vermont Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets. Before the ballroom was destroyed by fire in 1939, it hosted popular bands including those led by Tommy Dorsey. Among others. Admission was 75 cents for gentlemen and 40 cents for ladies.

Syrian Refugee Status update. 24 November, 2014. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not. Grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. While Luc was in the hospital, our next door neighbor, Tracy Lundy, was painting this angel. St Mel Church, where Keaton will be going to preschool, sponsored this angel as part of The Community of Angels Project. This was the only angel in the San Fernando Valley, amongst 399 other angels throughout the city of Los Angeles. For us, it was no coincidence this angel was next door to us during this time in our lives. On Ventura Blvd. (at De Soto Ave). Powered by Network Solutions.

Eliminating Poverty | BWAG
http://bwag.us/fighting-poverty
Poverty is the lack or absence of physical needs: food, water, shelter, clothing, and other necessities for physical well being. But poverty is much more than the physical. Poverty manifests itself into a lack of self esteem, self worth, shame, feelings of powerlessness, abandonment, loss of hope, desperation, and much more. How do we eliminate poverty? Pope Francis and Mother Mary Undoer of Knots. Serving our communities and the world. Faith, perseverance, attitude, and service. Our Lady of Grace.

Our Faith | BWAG
http://bwag.us/our-faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:15-17). We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6). We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation (Titus 3:4-7; Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

National Migration Week Jan 4-10th, 2015. 5 January, 2015. In Church today the pastor spoke of the churches launching this week, Jan 4. As National migration week with the theme, “We are One Family Under God,” which brings to mind the importance of family in our daily lives. This reminder is particularly important when dealing with the migration phenomenon, as family members are too often separated from one another. Below is a link to the Catholic website on National Migration week. Where is the balance?

Kame and Taro Arakawa. 5 May, 2015. A few weeks ago Pastor Tymme (. Https:/ www.facebook.com/pages/The-Underground-Church/102066303190256? Now listen, you who say, today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for alittle while and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, if it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that. Http:/ www.ny...
