Stitch! Read! Write!

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Here is my ort vase for the month. The autumn-y blob on top is the product of stitching on a fall-themed pinkeep. I am trying something different for the pinkeep, and it is not coming out how I pictured it, but I think it will still look good. Can't wait to post pictures of the finished result! I also have some other lovely things to show, when I have the time and energy to do a real post some day. Not that anybody is hanging on every blog post. :). Links to this post. When it c...

Stitch! Read! Write!: May 2011

http://stitchreadwrite.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 25, 2011. It isn't even the new moon! Time for an update, and it's not even because I need to post my TUSAL progress! I *finally* got some decent photos of the squares Jennifer of Sweet Pea Stitches. Sent me for Round 23 of the Fair and Square exchange. Rhodes Butterfly Biscornu by Kincavel Krosses. This is why I'll never be a star in the stitch-blogging world. My photography skills are near zero. I could not get a photo to do justice to how pretty this is! Thank you, Jennifer! I finished ...

Stitch! Read! Write!: February 2011

http://stitchreadwrite.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 5, 2011. Haha, my stitching train almost totally derailed this month! I am working on a freebie and a surprise project, so if I get time I'll post pics during the week. BUT - I did add a tiny bit to my ort jar. As you can see, I went overboard from last time, and chose a huge fancy crystal vase this month. It IS a month for flowers, and I thought it looked pretty with my heart fabric. (My in-need-of-paint walls are another matter - don't look.). Links to this post. Subscribe in a reader.

Stitch! Read! Write!: TUSAL and OakHaven SAL update

http://stitchreadwrite.blogspot.com/2011/07/tusal-and-oakhaven-sal-update.html

Saturday, July 2, 2011. TUSAL and OakHaven SAL update. Only posting once a month works pretty well for me. It helps me keep a record of my stitching, and the TUSAL deadline keeps me motivated both to stitch and to post. I got a lot (for me) of stitching done this month. Worked on the OakHaven Owl SAL, my Fair and Square Blackbird Designs round, and Sophie's Pincushion from Shepherd's Bush. So, my TUSAL. Update shows quite a bit of progress! And here are the April and May birds from the OakHaven SAL.

Stitch! Read! Write!: July 2008

http://stitchreadwrite.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Two posts in a row! Don't expect that to continue. :op But I did want to get my other pics posted. I participated in my first exchange at the Yahoo! Prairie School Fans group. This is what I stitched for Patricia (no blog that I know of). Taken from Spring Samplers by Prairie Schooler. Stitched on 28ct Potato Annabelle. I don't think they make this fabric anymore, which makes me sad because I really love it. Threads of my choice, but they mostly match those called for. Next up is ...

Lisa's Cross Stitch Paradise: September 2011

http://lisascrossstitchparadise.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Lisa's Cross Stitch Paradise. Thursday, September 29, 2011. This time the fruit grew in my garden so I am just waiting for it to ripen. It's not ready yet and I forgot to take a picture of it. While I was over by the fruit I looked at my milkweed and lo and behold I saw a monarch caterpillar! I always check them but up until today I didn't see anything on them. I actually counted 4 caterpillars! So I rushed back out to get a pic! Most were the Gulf Frit's but there were some Yellow Sulphur's as well!

April 10, 2013. The Dye Shop ( a work in progress ). It aint pretty, but its workable. Ive moved into the shop in our backyard. I couldnt wait till the interior walls were done. Stitch - Read - Cook

A Day in the Life. Tuesday, October 21, 2014. It’s Time To Say Goodbye…. After almost 4 years of blogging, ‘meeting’ amazing writers, finding titles I would never have normally picked up and getting to chat with other readers/bloggers who love books as much as I do – I’ve decided it’s time to shut down Stitch Read Cook. I will finish up any tours/reviews that I owe over the next couple of weeks – as well I will continue to post some reviews on my GoodReads account. 8221; and all the fantastic posts.

Get me outta here! Who’s Cookin’? Zuni Cafe’s Roast Chicken and Bread Salad. May 29, 2014. January 26, 2013. Vera made this wonderful salad to accompany Annie’s Moroccan stew. This could be great served over bread as well — like an eggplant bruschetta. Scant teaspoon cumin seeds. 1 pound firm eggplant. 1 small red onion, chopped (1/4 cup). 2 teaspoons red-wine vinegar. 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided. 2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley, divided. An electric coffee/spice grinder. My hol...
