Thailand | Standby to Somewhere

Posts from the ‘Thailand’ Category. My Eat, Pray, Love Summer. Summer certainly held her grip, but alas fall is here again and I’m left pondering where to begin when I am already so many months behind. To say my summer was epic, just sounds too cliché, but it was just that. It was a summer of worldly adventure that no doubt left permanent marks on my heart. The kilometers I crossed on foot, by plane, and tuk tuk. Summer of Travel: Part 2. Follow Standby to Somewhere on WordPress.com. Hasta luego, Madrid.

Let’s Add Lisbon to the List. By Kara of Standby to Somewhere on March 10, 2015. No denying my happiness with this sun and view. I find myself still wanting more of Lisbon, more of Portugal. This city, crumbling and alive, decadent and decaying took me by surprise, really. Flaky custard cups. Sadly, this fat kid couldn’t even get a snapshot of these scrumpcios tarts sprinkled with cinnamon before I had inhaled all evidence that we had indeed stood twenty-some minutes in line to get them. But like SF, par...

Posts from the ‘Camino de Santiago’ Category. When Life Calls For a Mini-Camino. If only I always lived a mere four hour drive from the Camino de Santiago! For my May “puente,” as the Spanish “holiday weekend” is known, I decided to take full advantage of my proximity to the Camino. Using Bla Bla Car, a ride sharing service for the first time, I headed back to Santander where I had left off in September on the Camino del Norte. Read more.
