Dastardly Designed Games: DM Advice - Be It Ever So Humble...
http://dastardlydesignedgames.blogspot.com/2011/09/dm-advice-be-it-ever-so-humble.html
I'm an old-school gamer with new school ideas! Friday, September 2, 2011. DM Advice - Be It Ever So Humble. I like to give my players a nice base of operations that they can call their own. For me, normally a town or small city serves this purpose. I tend to do one of the two extremes – frontier adventures or urban adventures. It is rare that I will cross the two and so the base of operations usually becomes the center stop over for each adventure’s climax. The way I achieved this in Superdungeon is actu...

Kate Swenson: My WIP
http://kate-swenson.blogspot.com/p/my-wip.html
Chase and Charlie have always been the freakiest twins on the block: she's allergic to light, he can smell emotions, their mother is a sword loving lesbian, and their grandpa grows his own. It doesn't get much weirder, until it does. They all. Get sucked through the garden wishing well and end up on Utrøst, an island sanctuary for all things magic. The last rat of Hamelin and her army of werewolves have declared war and naturally Chase and Charlie are the only ones who can stop her. No pressure. Annika s...

Kate Swenson: Skeery Stuff
http://kate-swenson.blogspot.com/2011/10/skeery-stuff.html
Saturday, October 22, 2011. It's Halloween, I am working in a Haunted Forest, and the villains of my novel are the guilty parties holding up. I have evil on the brain. Imagine what my (already notoriously crazy) dreams are like! Upon the advice of my beloved Crit Group, I have been trying to scary up my bad guys. But there is a distracting inner whisper and I am starting to question how far I really want to push in this direction. Which got me thinking. 1 Part Bitters to the Core. 1 Part Positive Thinking.

Kate Swenson: Who's That Lady?
http://kate-swenson.blogspot.com/2011/11/whos-that-lady.html
Thursday, November 3, 2011. Wanna Hear a Story? My photog friend and I are having a (weather pending) photo shoot. The goal is to create an authorial headshot to replace this one, which is dandy for my theatrical life, but perhaps for the literary world it would be wise to show less of my - erm - talents. To make matters worse, in thumbnails the top of my head often gets cut off and I needs those brainses! PS: My Day 2 - NaNoWriMo Count = 3431. 65279;. Posted by Kate Swenson. Cheese In A Can. Kate Swenson: I Am A NaNoWriMo--NoWi.
http://kate-swenson.blogspot.com/2011/12/i-am-nanowrimo-nowi.html
Wednesday, December 7, 2011. I Am A NaNoWriMo- NoWi. That right- I am a National Novel Writing Month Non-Winner. And I am okay with that. I have won many things in my time, including a bubble blowing contest and a minnow bucket. I have lost many things in my time, like every 5K I ever have or will enter and my marbles. Such is the life of a participant. And, if you're lucky, there are snacks! What Did I Learn? Do I Look Like I Care About Numbers? What Were The Snacks? How was your NaNo? I wish I had atte...

Kate Swenson: September 2011
http://kate-swenson.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. Tomorrow Is The Goal. I get until midnight-right? I am 11 pages from reaching the end of the third and final edit. I will need my head lamp and some snacks, because it's a little murky down there. Apparently in the excitement to write "THE END" and the eagerness to start on book two, someone got little harsh and cliffhangery. Ah the good old days! Then I will shout "technicalvictory! And claim my mini-self-prize.a manipedi! But first have to earn it. Are there any book endings...

Robin Writes: February 2014
http://robin-hall-writes.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 14, 2014. In honor of Valentine's Day, I read this Middle Grade beauty. When I saw it at B&N I knew my 8 year old, whose favorite holiday is "Love's Day," would scoop it right up. And I'm totally in love, not only with Ollie and 1957 Binder, AK, but also with Tess Hilmo's writing. I'm not surprised by its starred reviews or the multitude of well-deserved awards. Read this beauty, you won't regret it. Oh, Jimmy and his frogs. What are your favorite Valentine's reads? David P. King. My fat...
