After another satisfying breakfast with a plate of fresh cut fruit and a glass of fresh squeezed OJ, we leave the comfort of the Hacienda Uxmal. Our first stop is the caves of Loltun. I have been there several times before and know that it can be slippery in the rainy season and areas that are difficult to maneuver. Thursday, June 11, 2015. We’re here in Rio Lagartos and Atlanta seems far, far away! An uneventful flight, a quick time in customs, a relatively hassle free renting a car and we’re off for adventure. We grab lunch of. Ham and chees baguettes at a little place that Juan knows about and head down the road. We find a little spot to pull off the highway to eat the sandwiches. The sandwiches were much better than the spot where we stopped. Our first real stop was. The ruins of Ek Balam. I took down some duplos.

Saturday, June 13, 2015. Day 4 (SaturdayO Merida and Dzibilchaltun. We start the day with a wonderful breakfast of. Fresh squeezed orange juice and omelets. Oh, and of course, coffee for the coffee drinkers. Juan meets us at the hotel and we’re off to discover the gems of Merida. We walk the few blocks to the main plaza. Stopping along the way to see the University. The original structure is now only used for offices. Once at the square, we start with the Governor’s palace. It is simple dramatic lines.

Tuesday, October 9, 2012. After spending 2 weeks together in Guatemala, sharing meals and adventure, we missed each other. A few weeks ago, we gathered at my house to share stories, pictures and of course, a meal. We were too busy enjoing ourselves to take a picture of our reunion. I don't know how I let that happen! But it was great to see everyone again. I look forward to the next trip when we will make new friends, deepen existing friendships and of course, enjoy discovering more about Mexico.
