Monday, April 14, 2014. Experimenting on Craft Day. Do you ever talk with fellow artists about how much fun it would be to share tools and techniques and just play for an afternoon? On Saturday, several Austin illustrators got to do just that when the talented and organized Marsha Riti. Made a good idea into an afternoon of craft at the lovely home of Luz Marie Iturbe. So much fun to try out media that you might never invest in just to play! I am now in love with liquid watercolor. Thanks to Marsha for o...

Friday, February 08, 2013. Lion, squirrels and conferences, oh my! The Austin SCBWI conference kicks off tonight, with an exciting event. At the Children's Museum honoring Patrice Barton. Crystal Kite winner, and full of readings by E.B. Lewis, Liz Garton Scanlon, Cynthia Leitich Smith and more. Conference also means this week has been chock full of illustration and printer wrangling. Lots of new pieces in the portfolio this time! The above sketch is a work/possible story in progress. My prints on artmuse.

Friday, October 8, 2010. Even more than thinking about my mom, though, my thoughts drifted to the last funeral that I attended- a little over 1 month ago. My sweet friend, Janeece, lost her battle with cancer at the age of 26. She is survived by just about everyone in her family - including her dear husband and her 2 children. I am so grateful for everything with which I have been blessed. If you are reading this, you are one of those things =o). Wednesday, July 28, 2010. A bunch of pictures for you.

My ideas, my projects, my inspiration, my art. Pinned it and Did it! Hmm Should have put a coin in to show scale.). I've been researching little things, I'm thinking about small diorama/shadow box kind of things. Wanting to make or find tiny doll. It's a little too big for what I was thinking about, five inches if he's all standing up. But easy and cute and would be fun to teach kids. Saturday, May 17, 2014. Links to this post.
