What a Country!: June 2009
http://us-cruisers.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2009. June 20, 2009. The posted speed limit along much of Route 287 through Texas was mostly 70 mph. Occasionally it dropped to 35 as we passed sleepy towns that had seen more prosperous days. At the end, we hit Amarillo and stopped for the night at the Amarillo Ranch RV Park on historic Route 66. On the eve of Father's Day, Joan took Bob to the Big Texan Steak Ranch - "Home of the 72 oz. Steak". The place was a garish tourist trap but the meal was superb. June 19, 2009. June 18, 2009.

Friday, February 17, 2012. Sarasota County Beach House. February 11, 2012. We are spending a few weeks at this beautiful home on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. This photo was taken a few feet from the gentle waves hitting the shore day and night. The house and surroundings provide many photo opportunities. And plenty of chairs to watch Joan at work! Crab boats come close to shore to harvest the traps. This bird didn't mind sharing the beach as it waded through the surf. Sarasota County Beach House.

Saturday, June 26, 2010. June 18, 2010. Goodland, A Prairie Town. The water tower proclaims the existence of the town to interstate travelers. And the sign stands in front of the grain silos that dominate the landscape. This out of service gasoline station was a common design. The service building was probably added to the property. What a Country!: July 2011
http://us-cruisers.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 24, 2011. Spruce Pine, North Carolina. The week-long visit with family and friends gave us an opportunity to experience some of the great North Carolina attractions. The fourth of July was spent on Lake James with friends and family. Zip lining is a thrilling new sport to us. We drove to Plumtree, North Carolina, and joined other folks at the Plumtree Zip Line Canopy Tour company at the Toe River Lodge. Shannon and Erin, our guides, made sure that everything that we did was safe and enjoyable.

What a Country!: Georgia Aquariun
http://us-cruisers.blogspot.com/2012/02/georgia-aquariun.html
Friday, February 17, 2012. February 10, 2012. The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta is an outstanding experience and is reported to be the world's largest. The following photos show a selection of some of the exhibits. This shark is a few feet from the glass separating us. The size of the deep-water fish dwarfs these women. The skate swims so quickly that it's difficult to focus and shoot the camera. It's easy to miss the yellow sea horses in this colorful coral reef. The dolphin show was an entertaining exhib...
