Notes from my brain. The Business of Comedy. 5 Ways You Won’t Become Famous In Comedy. We all have dreams of making it big. Every comic has entertained the idea of what it would be like to be famous. Notes from my brain. The Business of Comedy. People often don’t know where to start. I’d like to help. I spent 5-6 years as a stand-up and improv performer. Playing mostly colleges and some clubs with the comedy group Selected Hilarity, I tallied over 500 shows during that time. I’ve seen (and performed) a lot of bad comedy and want to help the new performer avoid some of the typical pitfalls many performers encounter while trying to take their first 5 minutes and turn it into 15.
