http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 7, 2010. We are back home in Canada, so I guess I need a new blog! I am no longer a BC girl livin. In a British world.but I feel like it at times still. The first day I arrived home I kept thinking, "Wow that person has a Canadian accent! Then I would have to tell myself, "Yes Mindy, that's because you are in Canada and everyone has that accent! We have also looked at a lot of suites, some good, some strange, all too small so far. But soon it will all come together. We are who we were when.

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: May 2009
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2009. Driving and My Science Experiment. So last Friday I conquered the British road system. And when I say conquered, I mean, I got pretty good, AFTER some minor adjusting.stalling while trying to maneuver a roundabout, and going up on a curb at one point (haha! But after a little time of getting used to driving standard on the opposite side of the road while doing confusing roundabouts, I finally got it! How come we don't have to fill out waiver's in Canada? Sunday, May 31, 2009. This i...

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: April 2009
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2009. England Makes Me Crazy. The title of this blog not to be confused with "England DRIVES Me Crazy" because that's not what I mean.I mean it makes. Me crazy and I do and say weird things.I couldn't sleep the other night, and I got to thinking about all the funny things I have said or done in the last little while since living here. To give you an idea of it, I will give you a few examples. 3 I told someone I was just being a "Mole on the wall". What? 5 When ordering a pot of tea, ...

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: Crazy Crisps are Back!
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2010/06/crazy-crisps-are-back.html
Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Crazy Crisps are Back! I wrote about how Walker's came out with a crazy chip (or crisp, to the British) flavour contest.well, this year they have done it again! And there are 15 different flavours! In light of the world cup, they have done a countries theme which is interesting- and so far they are pretty darn good! The best one is French Garlic Baguette, kind of tastes like salty sour cream and onion chips. Wednesday, June 02, 2010. June 2, 2010 at 10:14 PM. The Return to Panama.

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: Ireland
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2010/06/ireland.html
Sunday, June 20, 2010. Well, the Verdict is in- Ireland is one of my favorite places on earth! Seriously, it exceeded my already high expectations. The west coast county of Kerry is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever beheld. So much natural beauty. Rugged mountains, lush green valleys, lakes and BC like forests, and the ocean view! And the Irish people- don't even get me started! We took a forty minute boat ride to the Skellig. They were everywhere. so cute! Later we hiked in Macgillycuddy.

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: Paris
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2010/06/paris.html
Friday, June 11, 2010. Except, note to self: don't leave anything in the basket and walk away.like a camera. It won't be there when you get back. Yep, that was the only crappy thing about our trip- losing the camera! Luckily we were staying with C4C friends, so they let us borrow their camera for the remainder of the trip. But not in it) and ate several times at the Latin Quarter. Which was, in our opinion, one of the coolest spots in Paris! We ate huge sweet and savoury crepes, Raclette.

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: Oh the Highlands...
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2010/04/oh-highlands.html
Thursday, April 29, 2010. Went up to Edinburgh last week with Tom and Arnold. We hired a car and, like the Canadians that we are, drove for hours and saw as much as we possibly could. We did take our British friend Tabby along, but she loves road trips, so she was cool with it. I did have to tell the guys to stop saying, "This looks like BC! Because it was probably annoying Tabby (but of course it wasn't because she's awesome)! We ventured up to Stirling, and Loch Lomond. We also saw lots of Highland Coos.

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: January 2010
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 30, 2010. It's good to get out of Oxford sometimes. It's such a world of it's own (really a University town feel) and most people say it has a sub-culture of its own. And frankly, I get sick of it sometimes. It's nice to get out, it reminds you that generally people ARE actually down to earth. Because of my work, I have been traveling by train to Birmingham a lot lately. I love taking the train, being able to work on my laptop (with wifi! Saturday, January 30, 2010. My friend found a co...

MIND THE [CULTURE] GAP: November 2009
http://culturegap.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 26, 2009. Thursday, November 26, 2009. Sunday, November 15, 2009. You know you are not in 'Kansas' anymore, when someone says to you "We played dodgem's and then ate some candy floss, then we checked out the steampunk. That actually happened to me this week. It makes me smile just thinking about it.and I am kind of proud of the fact that I totally understood what it meant. Sunday, November 15, 2009. Thursday, November 5, 2009.
