Speaking to the Soul. The Daily Office: The perfect Lenten observance. February 25, 2009 /. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Is a widely used psychological modeling tool. That is, it uses four sets of dichotomies to help a person make sense of who they are and how they relate to the world. I find it and the categories that it gives one of many helpful tools as I approach understanding myself and helping other people think through themselves and their spirituality. We’re right on the cusp of Lent here and...

leave it lay where Jesus flang it: I guess that is a good thing
http://leaveitlay.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-guess-that-is-good-thing.html
Leave it lay where Jesus flang it. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I guess that is a good thing. I wish we could do something like this. A summer camp and after school program for "at risk" kids. (thank you to Ellen Campbell who posted a link on Facebook. Because all of our kids are "at risk". But it would have to be consistent enough to break a two or three generation-old patterns. I cannot even imagine what it would look like. I am left wondering if that is a cultural distinction. From God comes my salvation.

The Lectionary... GO!: Luke 12:49 -
http://lectionarydiscussion.blogspot.com/2007/08/luke-1249.html
The Lectionary. GO! Saturday, August 18, 2007. Many of my friends are preaching tomorrow on Luke 12:49, if you are unfamiliar with this text, read it below . a challenging text to say the least! I am not preaching, but I am reading the Gospel as the deacon of the service, and I have not done a full job of reflecting on and wrestling with, and exegeting this text. That said, my reaction to this text is that: Jesus means business! Posted by Peter Carey. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

leave it lay where Jesus flang it: the procession between
http://leaveitlay.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-procession-between.html
Leave it lay where Jesus flang it. Saturday, July 25, 2015. I don't remember what I did after I got home. I allowed myself to "crash" and think of nothing. And eat ice cream, even though I know I shouldn't. Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia. I prefer the frozen yogurt kind, but they don't get that here. I can remember when I was more like Mr. Witty. there was a time when I wouldn't even dream of going to sleep with a storm approaching. Except, this is a war zone. A holocaust. Even now. With third...The cause...

Leave it lay where Jesus flang it. Thursday, August 27, 2015. Not bad for two wrinklies. Things I have learned or realized I already knew, again:. If you pull your hair in to a ponytail, and then you get paint on it, you can use the ponytail as a paint brush. If it hasn't rained in three weeks, and rain is in the forecast, wait until the day after it rains to dig the post holes. Learn to remember to remember different cuss words so you don't shock the neighbors. When you use the pick axe. When your belov...

leave it lay where Jesus flang it: that tomorrow is today
http://leaveitlay.blogspot.com/2015/08/that-tomorrow-is-today.html
Leave it lay where Jesus flang it. Saturday, August 8, 2015. That tomorrow is today. How are you doing? I bury too many young men because of alcohol and drugs,' I said. 'So, I'm somewhere between exhausted and absolutely pissed off.'. He laughed. 'How are you doing? How do you let the being angry go? I'd be crying all the time, if I was you,' he said. I don't know if I can make it through tomorrow,' he said. And we sat in silence. Our hands folded. Looking at the floor. That tomorrow is today. You turn u...
