Roose Wanderlust - Day 3

July 23rd, 2013. We met several people while there who were also travelling down the trail. We eventually started heading back, knowing that we had a long trail ahead of us. The weather was not bad but looking like it might turn so we tried to hustle back up the mountain. The hike up was steep and tiring. Day 1 of our adventure saw us up and early in the wee hours of the morn to set out. Our destination. Ouray, Colorado. I have never been to Colorado and Ashley has only been when she was a child. Her family visited Ouray on a road trip and she remembered enjoying the town. We decided to head there for a getaway and see what all it had to offer. July 25th, 2013. Day 5 opened to reluctancy. We gathered our things, cleaned the cabin and said goodbye to the bear statues out front. We decided to have one last breakfast at the Backstreet Bistro, easily our favorite eatery in Ouray. We ended up visiting each of the ten stops. The views really were fantastic. The last stop, Warner point unfortunately was almost a mile hike to the point. Round trip that would have been a hour or so for that stop. We got some nice views from the beginning...Almost back o...

July 24th, 2013. Day 4 started out with sore muscles and stiff bones. We went into town and got some good cafe breakfast. The Main Street Restaurant is downstairs below an old movie theatre. Ashley ordered the giant cinnamon roll and it alone fed us both. We drove north to visit the town of Ridgeway and Ridgeway State Park. We did not have much time so we only stayed for a few minutes each. The lake at Ridgeway State Park is quite large and inviting but had to wait for another visit. Create a free website.

July 22nd, 2013. Day 2 of our Ouray adventure found us rested and ready to explore. We were up with the sun which we welcomed while on vacation. We had breakfast at the Backstreet Bistro in town. A nice place we ended up visiting several times. After heading back to the cabin and relaxing for a bit, we got our bating suits on and headed to the Hot Springs.
