Tenille Hoogland: Elite Triathlete. Saturday, October 23, 2010. Pan-American Championships Puerto Vallarta. The prep days before the race were very uneventful. We sat in our hotel rooms to stay cool. We watched movies, read, drank electrolytes. were bored actually. Because we were tapering as well the energy levels just going up and up and up to the point that both Chantell (roommate) and I were saying to each other - let's get on with it! Then the run. Oh the run! Posted by Tenille Hoogland. Well it is ...

I can therefore, I will: Austin Marathon
http://robinbostick.blogspot.com/2009/04/austin-marathon.html
I can therefore, I will. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. I had the best weather conditions on pretty much all of my runs. I loved doing my long runs in Austin. It was so nice having a change in scenery every week. I was able to meet lots of new people and form some great friendships. I think one of the best aspects of my training has been the friendships I've created. It makes me happy. I mean I had been training for six months for this momentous occasion and they just decided it would be a fun "thing" to do.

Tenille Hoogland: Elite Triathlete. Wednesday, November 10, 2010. 2010 - A Year to Remember. I am not sure how to capture this year in words as it has been such an incredible journey. It has been wonderful and painful, has brought joy and sadness but most importantly has challenged me to be a better person, better athlete and striving for more. In January I sold all my furniture and left my work with the federal government to train full-time. He sent me to get an MRI and I stopped running entirely. His p...

With a Twist of Life. The Road to Boston . . . by way of Eugene. Watching the news stunned, I worried about our friends. We had 50 Rogues in Boston and 27 personal friends/teammates that I had been tracking. Were they safe? What about their families? How could someone intentionally do such a thing? We anxiously awaited news that everyone was okay. Finally some good news, they (and their family members) were. For our non-runner friends, the Boston Marathon. In April 2012, I lined up in London. With the ma...

I know that feeling and stride I can keep forever. A gear I can switch into and just sail. Next thing I know it we're ascending a few small hills and some people are starting to slide around and it's crowded. surely this race can't be such a cluster f&*@! Nacho's Aid station - mile 36.60. I'm ready for food, real food and they have it!

A collection of my race stories. Thursday, September 17, 2009. Bulldog 50K - August 22, 2009 - Malibu, CA. What a great race. I’ll spare you the drama since there wasn’t any AT ALL. This was simply 31 miles of fun. At 5am I met Katie DiSplinter with dounuts in hand at Peet’s in Brentwood to carpool. We got there in record time after a windy trip in her jeep. Making it to the start I saw nothing but familiar faces. Jimmy, Dom, Kate, Eric, Erin, Bev. The whole Coyote Running. No No, rain? Note: Some of you...

A collection of my race stories. Sunday, May 03, 2009. Miwok 100k - May 2nd, 2009. It's 3:45am. I get picked up from my motel. Time to start a long, fun day in the Marin headlands, just north of San Francisco. Although it had rained the day before, the morning was cool but clear-ish. A festive energy filled the air. At 5:40am we're off. Running the first 100 yards on the beach at Rodeo Lagoon is a perfect way to start the journey. Flashback. nearly an hour earlier I run into Jimmy. Ringing in my head.

A collection of my race stories. Monday, April 06, 2009. American River 50-mile Endurance Run. At 6:00 am on Saturday, April 4, 2009 I went for a long run with about 500 friends going from Sacramento to Auburn, CA. Along the American River. 50 miles. 11 hours and 16 minutes later I finished. Here are the highlights and lessons learned. Start to mile 25. I'm quickly back on the run. I'm enjoying the scene much more now. The trails seemed to duck and twist through forest along the rivers edge. Watc...After...
