Mod/Game Development and other code-based ramblings. Concerning APS source, porting and such things. I know a few people are interested in porting APS to 1.3.2, which I am fine with. However, there have been a few complications. First of all, the svn has been corrupted for a while, I don't know how or why but it's gone weird. Secondly, it now seems that I've lost a good chunk of the source files of every version of APS on my computer, which is even stranger. EDIT: The svn is now working again. To get...

Mod/Game Development and other code-based ramblings. So, I'm pretty much done with my dissertation now. Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping utilising Consumer Depth Camera Technology. It's been. Lack of foresight and understanding on my part led to a lot of trouble, particularly in getting it working well enough to be considered real-time. Here's a quick rundown of what I've learned, in no particular order:. Proper research and literature-derived design is KEY. Covariance matrices are really cool.

Mod/Game Development and other code-based ramblings. A WINNER IS YOU! The Game Jam is complete, our game was mostly complete and it turned out that the Lincoln Social Computing group deemed Bezumiye worthy of their Critical Design Award. This award is given to games which are meaningful or persuasive, and I think the use of Chernobyl as our subject matter and the realistic representation of the effects contributed to our win. The prize for the LiSC CDA is £25 amazon vouchers each and a. We have an idea!

Mod/Game Development and other code-based ramblings. I hath returned (kinda), CZ2D progress update and broken Kindle. So, we've finally got internet in the flat now, 30mb cable broadband from Virgin (and it actually is 30mb! I might be able to treat you all to an experimental version of CZ2D quite soon, but don't expect anything spectacular, at the moment the focus is on getting it fully functional, and the zombies are waiting until I can get my head around pathfinding. However, we won't have internet fo...

Mod/Game Development and other code-based ramblings. So, it's been a while since I updated this. Quite a lot has happened. Firstly, I finished my second year of uni. Firsts in all modules except for Game Design (low 2.1, I'm a programmer, not a designer). My average grade across my time at university is now 78%. For my project, I have managed to secure Dr John Murray. Sensor to detect, map, navigate and explore its surroundings. This plan was changed slightly since the drone John has in his office. Penul...

Mod/Game Development and other code-based ramblings. Another update of little import. Well, it's been a while. I apologise for the lack of info or anything, uni work pretty much pounced on us all at once a few weeks ago. I also apologise for getting everyone's hopes up with the APS recode. It will have to go back on hold for now as I don't have enough spare time to dedicate to working it all out. However, the brilliant Seph has ported APS to 1.3.2, and you can all get it here. The guy behind Wing Command...
