http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2015/05/recent-happenings-at-pelee.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Recent happenings at Pelee. I've been down now at Pelee and have been having a pretty sweet time. The birding has been really quite good, especially after such a crappy Apil. Today was quite good; 21 species of warblers, 116 species, including a few highlights. I found my 2nd Henslow's Sparrow in 24 hours today! Photo taken by Bryan Teat. Looked like a SY male. Ragin' cagin' birding: March 2015
http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Friday, March 13, 2015. We headed up to Lill's cottage on the Bruce, pretty close to Tobermory, last weekend. Suffice to say, it was, and I expect, it is still quite wintry up there. Ice is still pretty thick.but nice and blue! On our drive back (Monday March 9th), we came across a Snowy Owl near Tara. Closer to Waterloo we had 3 Snowies within 500m. from one another - pretty cool! Sunday, March 1, 2015. Late in the...

Ragin' cagin' birding: November 2014
http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Monday, November 24, 2014. Since last Friday I've birded a few spots locally, as I haven't been able to getaway further afield (I had planned on doing the NE shore of Erie yesterday but that fell through). Anyways, after digging myself out, I checked Conestogo Lake. The lake was about half frozen(! Below the dam at Conestogo Lake. And then the quarry pits, just east of Puslinch. Here the water is pretty deep, an...

http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Saturday, December 27, 2014. Kitchener CBC: Area 9 recap. With its distinctly different tail (in comparison to MODOs). We looked pretty hard for the bird afterwards but couldn't find it. We ended up with 42 species (not too bad for Kitchener.and for an area with no open water! Monday, December 15, 2014. Cambridge CBC - Area 6 recap. Over the past 20 years we've had some decent count birds among the 84 species; Varie...

Ragin' cagin' birding: May 2015
http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Pelee area May 15th. What turned out to be my last day at Pelee turned out to be a doozy! Things started very quietly, however, with the rain that moved through the region starting at 0600hr, activity really picked up. First thing in the morning I had a Yellow-throated Vireo and my foy Connecticut Warbler at the tip area. The bird was a female (brown tail). We watched the bird soaring and hun...

Ragin' cagin' birding: Eurasian Collared-Dove nest!
http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2015/04/eurasian-collared-dove-nest.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Wednesday, April 1, 2015. It looks as though the case of the Eurasian Collared-Dove's has finally been cracked! Before heading to our field site, Nathan (Miller) and I headed by the ECDO spot. We've been in the area intermittently for the past 3 weeks doing waterfowl surveys and hadn't had any luck with the doves, but today things changed! Nathan managed a few shots too, see for yourself. Pelee Visit on Sunday.

http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Thursday, January 9, 2014. 2013 Highlights (some of them.). Disclaimer 1* * below are not some of the nicer/pretty pictures from 2013; they're rustic/documentation style-pictures, that for some reason I really like. I'll do my best to tell you why I like them with a brief paragraph/caption. If you want to see pretty pictures from 2013, check other people's blogs out! Photograph by Mark Cunningham. Ragin' cagin' birding: Dreamin' of these....
http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2015/04/dreamin-of-these.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Monday, April 27, 2015. Despite this being one of the latest springs I can remember, May is literally just around the corner. Having said this, things always seem to even out by the 10th of May. This year, like many of the past, I'll be off for a few weeks, hopefully enjoying and basking in some serious CMF's. I'll be down at Pelee from May 1-18, so I will potentially see many of you there. Ragin' cagin' birding: January 2015
http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Thursday, January 29, 2015. Recent happenings (Jan. 29). Things have been a bit dormant on the 'ole blog for the past few weeks. We're entering into one of our slowest times of the year, but despite that there have been several pretty decent highlights! Who would've thought going for a run would be this good? I saw the bird on Monday with Nathan Miller. Last Friday I birded from Ashbridges Bay. And had a single Yell...

Ragin' cagin' birding: Recent Happening's -- June 2015
http://kenburrell.blogspot.com/2015/06/recent-happenings-june-2015.html
Follow my romps wherever they are; about birding, nature, the outdoors and whatever else. Monday, June 29, 2015. Recent Happening's - June 2015. It's been a while; June has, as like most years, been incredibly busy; I can't believe it's just about over! I've been in the field every day this month, covering principally southern Ontario, west of Toronto, to the Bruce, to the Pelee area. I've given a select few highlights from the past month that I can remember. SubID=S23881367). I was back down for my ...
