Aid worker or Mama? | Craic & Banter
https://craicandbanter.wordpress.com/2015/07/15/aid-worker-or-mama
Musing on philosophy, healthcare and womanhood. July 15, 2015. Aid worker or Mama? Being an international aid or development professional AND being a mother is not a particularly common combination. Become a mother is definitely harder to come by. And the challenges aren’t non-existent for the blokes either. Some women decide from the outset that they are comfortable not to have kids or perhaps they consider it a sacrifice that they’re willing to make. They consciously pursue a fulfilling caree...But I s...

Long before I first saw. Little fish, as I feel you. I can’t help but smile. Yes This is my biggest 'creative' project for the year! Wow - congratulations, Renee! The image of the fishbowl is stunning. February 7, 2012 at 9:03 AM. Wow, holy shit! Congratulations Renee and Mark, thats fantastic news. The fifth one I've e...

Brooksie: July 2006
http://kiwibrooksie.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 29, 2006. To boldly go where no man has gone before . First of all, you push a button and if the bathroom isn't. I only needed a minute or so anyways, but I can just imagine the surprise of someone not heeding that warning, only to have the doors suddenly slide open, exposing them to the public strolling by as they sit on the throne. But once I pushed the button to get back out, the music stopped, and the voice came back on again and. Me for using the public facilities. They must have all ...

Brooksie: Somebody stop that cat!
http://kiwibrooksie.blogspot.com/2009/04/somebody-stop-that-cat.html
Monday, April 06, 2009. Somebody stop that cat! So there I was, sitting on a bench by the side of the road, waiting for the mechanics' shop to open. The car was due in for its Warrant of Fitness. And as I was a bit early for dropping off the cah. I had no choice but to take a seat outside. Hold the phone: what was that? Yes, it was the same little grey and white cat I had seen just a few hours previous as he made his way towards the seedy Dumpster District. Fast forward to a few days later, and after wor...

Brooksie: September 2006
http://kiwibrooksie.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 21, 2006. One of the many cool things about New Zealand (and I really don't mean to gush about it all the time, but it is. Difficult not to) is that you can be in a large cultural center like Wellington and in five minutes' drive be on a seemingly remote stretch of beautiful coastline. I am reminded of a similar experience in Christchurch, when I drove over some hills leading out of the city and saw Sumner and Brighton nestled on the shore. These are the Kiwis' version of summer homes...

Sunday, October 29, 2006. At Beechball's request . I give you these five movie reviews. So pop the popcorn, crack open a can of soda, sit back, and try to stay awake. Starring Christian Bale as the psycho. Insofar as it’s the disturbing tale of a serial killer (or is it all in his head? Which just screamed to me like he was saying with his acting: Look at me! I’m a creepy serial killer! The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. Came out in 1971 I think, based upon. Well I enjoyed all of those movies, so the 5...
