Humility, that low, sweet root, From which all heavenly virtues shoot" - Thomas More. My Dad is a fairly decent atmospheric scientist, or so I'm told. Yet, when he sent me a link to some pictures. Recently, I thought they were fake. He assures me they're not. I still don't know if I believe him. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ann Arbor, MI. View my complete profile. Some Blogs I Read. http://mattsmusing.blogspot.com/2008/05/catching-up-desert-island-discs.html
Humility, that low, sweet root, From which all heavenly virtues shoot" - Thomas More. Catching up - desert island discs. Some time ago (ok, an absurdly long time ago) I started. To list the albums I would want with me on a desert island. I took an unplanned hiatus from blogging and never finished, so I'm going to bang out the whole list in one post. Here goes. All That You Can't Leave Behind" by U2. After finishing a grueling hike. Or Walk On before starting it. When I Look In Your Eyes" by Diana Krall.

adventures in humility: the next chapter
http://mattsmusing.blogspot.com/2008/04/next-chapter.html
Humility, that low, sweet root, From which all heavenly virtues shoot" - Thomas More. What is it about me and life transitions? I'm reminded of Jesus' parables about waiting patiently, but expectantly for the bridegroom. Maybe this coming year will give me new insight into waiting for Christ's return. Marantha Lord Jesus! Congrats on your decision to go to Princeton, and especially congrats on your engagement! That is super-awesome. I wish you the best with making those transitions. Ann Arbor, MI.

Living inside, outside, upside down. Ramen Noodles in Bangkok. Must-read article on secure passwords. March 25, 2011. Password reuse is rampant, as recent website hacks demonstrate. Do you. Use the same password on multiple sites? That’s taking a huge risk –. If one of them gets hacked, your online identity may be compromised. Instead, memorize only ONE super strong password and use a password. Manager to randomly generate the rest. Do it this weekend. Don’t. The article linked below. Feed for this Entry.

Humility, that low, sweet root, From which all heavenly virtues shoot" - Thomas More. Not quite comfortable with the Mary stuff. My fellow ex-Budapester Sam. Alerted me to an interesting online quiz. By posting his results on his blog. It came as no surprise to anyone that he was pegged as a Roman Catholic. It might come as a surprise to some that I got the same result, though I scored an equal amount of Emergent/Postmodern with my Papist portion. Links to this post. Life update, list style. Bob's bloggery: July 2011
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 21, 2011. Numen by Phil Keaggy and Kyle Jones. Phil Keaggy has been recording albums on his own or with others for about forty years now. He has something like 70 albums in his catalog. So how do you make that much music and keep it fresh and creative? Phil does it by looking for new collaborators. These collaborations have paid off. His album with Jeff Johnson, Frio Suite. Is one of my favorites and is still in heavy rotation on my playlist. Is a lot of fun. His latest album, Numen. The I...

Bob's bloggery: Chennai Journal - Part One
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2006/08/chennai-journal-part-one_01.html
Tuesday, August 01, 2006. Chennai Journal - Part One. I'm just back from my amazing trip to India. I'm home now but while I was in Chennai, India I wrote about my trip. I'll be posting some of what I wrote while I was there over the next few days. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 4:00 PM – Chennai, India. Make it a line five deep of people packed together and you have the idea. So we went back inside, convincing a soldier with a rifle that we had good reason to, and hired a taxi to take us to the Savera Hotel.

Bob's bloggery: Favorite albums of the year
http://drbobk.blogspot.com/2010/12/favorite-albums-of-year.html
Sunday, December 19, 2010. Favorite albums of the year. I’ve not updated this blog very much this year – my job has kept me especially busy lately. But I have been listening to a lot of music (I still have my 45 min commute) and, as I have done for the past few years, I have compiled a list of my favorite music for the year. So here they are, in no particular order - the albums that especially got me excited this year. Robert Plant / Band of Joy. 8211; This album surprised me. I listened to Raising Sand.
