The Ricksalicious Life

Saturday, March 10, 2012. Jack just started spelling tests this year at school, which I didn't think much about since Max had no problem with spelling. But, turns out, what they. EVERY KID IS DIFFERENT! I guess I should start listening to them. I was in a bit of a panic when Jack's first practice spelling test came back with 0 out of 8 words correct. Yikes! So we started studying, and he had been doing so well. It's so amazing when you see your hard work as a parent pay off, for both you and your kids!

The Ricksalicious Life: August 2010

http://ricksalicious.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 9, 2010. What I Did On My Summer Vacation. Yes, I have been away for a while. Why, you may ask, well many reasons, so I'll give you a list:. Seriously, you try living in Europe for a few months and blog about ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, and you'll see what I mean. So, as soon as we got back from Europe, my laptop kept having what, in the computer geek world, they call a kernel panic. And they finally gave me a shrug and told me it would cost at least. I Bought An iPad:. Why, you may ask? And it...

Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Doing The Dutch Thing. We don't have kids with us, and while it was hard to leave them (seriously, what happens to us when we become parents? I can't help but thing how great it will be to sample some more Dutch cuisine that does not come in a hamburger bun. Steve and I arrived this morning, which felt like the middle of the night, and checked into our apartment and then I laid down for just a minute and woke up 2 1/2 hours later. Oh, and then there's this blog lag thing.

I think it hit me one day of the first warm, sunny days we had in Paris when I walked by a busy cafe and a woman was sprawled out on her chair like a cat in a very transparent, very small camisole, enjoying the sun. And she looked amazing. And, you could tell, the last thing on her mind was how she looked. Posted by The Ricks. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, May 31, 2010. And almost ready for action. I realized just now that we've been home from our travels for almost two weeks, and I am just about decompressed. I think I need one more night of catching up on 30 Rock, The Office, and the other goodies saved for us by our thoughtful DVR while we were gone. Then I'm ready to catch you up on all we've done and are doing! Posted by The Ricks. Sunday, May 9, 2010. The Five Stages of No Internet Access. Paris et Rosalie: February 2010

http://parisetrosalie.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

My Life in Paris. Friday, February 26, 2010. Yesterday we took a trip to the quaint little town of Chartres, France. It was refreshing to be in a small town with less hustle and bustle and more open space. A little taste of the quaint-ness of Chartres- no one around! We went to see the Notre Dame de Chartres, which is actually 500 years older. Than the Notre Dame de Paris, which is the one The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Notre Dame de Chartres. We climbed to the top of the tower on the left. Our class went ...

Winter In Paris 2010: Finding Your Way Around A Doll's House

http://winterinparis2010.blogspot.com/2010/02/finding-your-way-around-dolls-house.html

Monday, February 15, 2010. Finding Your Way Around A Doll's House. So, since we're all just students of French, I thought, oh, I don't know, maybe. Some of you would like to have a summary of the plot of A Doll's House. Seriously, with resources like this, I would have graduated college with honors. Meanwhile, Dr. Rank, a family friend, flirts with Nora before revealing that he is terminally ill with. Of the spine (a contemporary euphemism for. Nora tells Kristine of her predicament. Yes, it's been like FIVE WEEKS since I've written on this blog, which still amazes me because it seems to have been just a blur of activities, beautiful weather, and visitors. But I'm back, and this time with information on our upcoming. Winter In Paris 2010: The French Easter Fiesta

http://winterinparis2010.blogspot.com/2010/04/french-easter-fiesta.html

Monday, April 12, 2010. The French Easter Fiesta. Me telling everyone to come and get it. Max was wise and ate on the top bunk to avoid the feeding frenzy. The spread: Homemade guacamole, salsa, refried beans, chicken tacos, with a few little French additions, like creme frâiche instead of sour cream, gouda cheese instead of cheddar, and romaine lettuce instead of iceberg. Luckily cooking for you guys is like shooting fish in a barrel. Especially when you have been Mexican deprived for months.

Winter In Paris 2010: The Recital

Sunday, April 18, 2010. I know you all thought you'd be home by now, but since you're not, I thought I'd entertain you with some new blog posts. I wanted to thank Angela and Mike for the great recital the other night, and I know, like everyone, I enjoyed it immensely. Here's the photos:. Finding a home for our locks. And I had no idea that Jack had become so attached to his lock and was heartbroken when he realized he had to leave it. Paris et Rosalie: London, Baby!

http://parisetrosalie.blogspot.com/2010/02/london-baby.html

My Life in Paris. Friday, February 26, 2010. Catch up: A quick recap of London:. We went to Les Misérables! The first time I went was in 2008 and we saw it the night we flew into London. I was so jet-lagged that I fell asleep no matter how hard I tried to stay awake. So this time I got to see the whole thing. I thought the cast from 2008 was better (from what I actually saw of it), but Les Miz is Les Miz, and it's always good. Most famous cupcake shop in England. We saw the Buckingham Palace.

Saturday, February 27, 2010. From Marsh to City! So yesterday was Friday, and I decided I should do the walk titled Marais Part 1. Marais means marsh in french, and this part of Paris used to be all swampy and marshy! Until they started taking the water out and now voilà! Anyways, Chelsea was kind enough to show me around again even though she had already done it. She said it's a nice area, and she's quite right! First thing worth noting on the walk is this wall. It's been here for a long time since ...

Saturday, March 6, 2010. Alright here goes the other 3 weeks. We did this all on Friday, yesterday. First we started Marais Walk 2. It was great because we got to eat Falafel for lunch! Serve me food like this and I can become a vegetarian. Also this Jewish Synagogue is designed by the Art Nouveau guy Hector Guimard as well, his wife was a Jew. It's supposed to look like an open Torah scroll. Then we did the Grands Boulevards Walk! Which is so titled because Baron Haussmann transformed Paris' old narrow ...
