Thoughts from the Couch: March 2012
http://couchthoughts.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Thoughts from the Couch. People. One couch. Lots of thinking going on. Monday, March 05, 2012. I mentioned a while ago. That I've got a bit of free time, and have been trying things in the kitchen. Bread seems to be the constant thing for me. I make a lot, and don't buy from the store any more. In addition to the two loaves I mentioned previously, I bake a third that is ridiculously easy. Here's my recipe. 2-1/4 tsp active dry yeast. 1-1/4 c luke-warm water. 1-1/2 tsp kosher salt (or 1-1/4 tsp table salt).

Thoughts from the Couch: Family Values
http://couchthoughts.blogspot.com/2012/08/family-values.html
Thoughts from the Couch. People. One couch. Lots of thinking going on. Thursday, August 30, 2012. I am a Cleveland Indians. Fan, as I'm quite sure I've mentioned before. I've introduced both kids to baseball by taking them to see the Columbus Clippers. Get a hit, Michael Brantley! So I decided it was time to take Happy on a pilgrimage: we went to Progressive Field for his first live game. I kinda wish we'd have been able to stay longer. But, someday I know he'll outgrow his fear of noises, and we'll ...

Thoughts from the Couch: October 2011
http://couchthoughts.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thoughts from the Couch. People. One couch. Lots of thinking going on. Friday, October 14, 2011. Question For the Masses. Can someone please explain to me why everyone is in such a lather about Yuengling. I bought some of their lager today. I can't say I think it's all that exceptional. Yes, it's better than the mass produced swill that's out there, but I'd much prefer Great Lakes Brewery Dortmunder Gold. Heck, I think Sam Adams. Is better. What am I missing? Links to this post. Just a small post but one that I have been thinking about all day. This morning during our wake up snuggle Happy was babbling and kept mentioning we were on a space ship. Where he came up with that I don't know but it was fun pretending with him. It also made me think of the cartoon. Links to this post.

Thoughts from the Couch: December 2011
http://couchthoughts.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Thoughts from the Couch. People. One couch. Lots of thinking going on. Monday, December 26, 2011. A Brief Moment of Happy-ness. Life with Happy has been less than happy for the last few months. His two started pretty mild, but picked up around 2-1/2 and has intensified into a pretty attitudinal start to three. There's mischievous taunting of Poet, punctuated by a lot of NO! Shouted at Mommy and Daddy, all wrapped around lots of crying when he doesn't get his way. I love you very much! Links to this post.

One of our little morning rituals with Poet is to sing Rise and Shine to get her out of bed. It's something we've done for years, and both kids have picked up on the words. Sort of. Poet's version sounds like somthing a hockey fan might say:. Rise and shine, and give God your goalie, goalie. We've never had the heart to correct her :). Links to this post. Monday, April 23, 2012. Thoughts from the Couch: February 2012
http://couchthoughts.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thoughts from the Couch. People. One couch. Lots of thinking going on. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Since it was requested, here's how to make homemade butter:. 1 pint heavy whipping cream. 1 tsp kosher salt (or to taste). Food processor or blender. A largish bowl filled with ice water. Something in which your butter will be stored. See, it's simple, isn't it? Oh, and one final note: homemade butter is just begging for additions. Try herbs or garlic. Yummmm. Links to this post. Thank You, AEP!
