Vinsanity: Tuff stuff.

Vinsanity ● n. a deranged state of mind usually occurring when the love of wine drives you crazy…so call me a cab. Friday, July 10, 2015. A small excavation in Vinoland has revealed a friendly, neighbourhood igneous rock (everybody should have one). Tuff, or ash-fall tuff, is extremely variable in its chemical and mineralogical composition. Vinoland's tuff happens to be extremely light in weight and texture, but there exists some historical references (. Geology 101 ignited my curiosity! Oenol•o...

Such a winsome, little periwinkle-blue wild flower could not have a worse name - hello, skunkweed! Yes, I found a new blue weed. However, I discovered this little cutie,. Lovely picture and beautiful flowers; the soft blues and the spikes explode with a contrasting energy! July 15, 2015 2:32 am. NHW: Thanks. The spikes are a little prickly, still a cute weed though.

Over the water: Bay area blues
http://overthewaterx2.blogspot.com/2015/06/bay-area-blues.html
The life of a class traitor and peripatetic scouser. Thursday, 4 June 2015. Considering the title and supposed subject of my blog I am not spending too much time over the water in America lately. A mixture of family commitments, work and selling our home in Walnut Creek means that family OTW will not be visiting the bay area until next year a fact that leaves me a most English Englishman curiously homesick! 6 June 2015 at 04:53. Vinsanity ● n. a deranged state of mind usually occurring when the love of wine drives you crazy…so call me a cab. Monday, July 27, 2015. And last, but not least. Veraison in the Cabernet Sauvignon vines has begun, albeit very sporadic. Caught in all their blushing glory late yesterday afternoon, this particular cluster of grapes includes a few shot berries, the odd dead flower part and lots of pesky powdery mildew cleistothecia. Lovely, (not). Exciting at this time of year. July 28, 2015 12:21 pm. Oenol...

Vinsanity ● n. a deranged state of mind usually occurring when the love of wine drives you crazy…so call me a cab. Friday, July 24, 2015. Veraison in the Syrah. I actually noticed the onset of veraison yesterday and it's quite irregular, but it's happening. I also noticed that there is quite a bit of poor fruit set, or millerandage. Millerandage is a problem that affects fruit set in grapes and can be caused by a number of things; unfavourable climatic conditions, difficult fertilization, genetics, etc.

Resting in Vinomaker's palm (he makes a great hand-model, doesn't he? Are dozens of garden snail eggs. These eggs were a 'gift with purchase' courtesy of a bag of Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. Sigh. As a result, Vinoland has now been inadvertently inoculated. Because one just winked at me. Sacrebleu! Great for an omelette. July 26, 2015 12:36 pm. July 26, 2015 7:15 pm.
