Coveted Books: December 2005
http://covetedbooks.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 31, 2005. Alchemist's Daughter- Katharine McMahon. It's a historical novel,. Compares it to Phillipa Gregory but I haven't read hers. The best comparison I can make is to ". Girl With a Pearl Earring. I thought the author both did her research into the time period and came up with a plausible idea why the main character would have a more "modern" outlook on the world. I think to an extent I just don't get historical fiction though, maybe because of it's lack of humor? Links to this post.
