Sunday, March 23, 2014. Bell Telephone. the pretty pink Princess. Bell Telephone Advertisement - 1959. Oh my goodness. Nothing brings move love, than the pink princess years. Which I blame completely on Bell Telephone and their Princess phones. How could you be anyone in school if you didn't have your own bedside phone? Yet, still the same message. How is a teen girl suppose to function, without her phone! Vintage bell princess phone advertisement. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Farm Girl in Texas.

Typing Sunflowers: The Porch Garden
http://typingsunflowers.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-porch-garden.html
May 19, 2014. While I'm waiting for my tomatoes to actually grow in our garden, I've been busy on the porch creating a little urban haven. I read something a long time ago that mentioned the need to get outside and to actually see green things grow (a photo doesn't count). There is something therapeutic and calming about sitting or strolling in a garden setting - even an urban one. In my early 20s, I lived and worked in England. The British are known for their gorgeous flower gardens. I'm Brenda Steffen ...

Typing Sunflowers: Happy Earth Day!
http://typingsunflowers.blogspot.com/2015/04/happy-earth-day.html
April 22, 2015. I took this photo nearly a decade ago ( how is that even possible? At a small outdoor restaurant along the coast of South Africa. It's an old buoy, but it has always reminded me of the earth. The Sailor, the Peanut and I just returned from South Africa, and while we were nowhere near this restaurant, we at least enjoyed the outdoors as well as the spoils from Oupa's garden. We missed peach season. We introduced the Peanut to grass, which he wasn't too sure about at first. Is fun to pet.

Typing Sunflowers: Cloth Diapering Basics
http://typingsunflowers.blogspot.com/2015/05/cloth-diapering-basics.html
May 26, 2015. I didn't know much about babies before I had one, but one thing was for certain — I knew if I ever had a child, I'd use cloth diapers. Cloth diapers have come a long way since I was a baby. I'm happy to report that I've been using them nearly exclusively for almost 10 months now, without a single pin in sight. But I figured I could still possibly help a mother or two out there who is curious about cloth diapering. In the end, the old-fashioned very. Basic, versatile and cheap flats were the...

Our Arts and Crafts Home: Sandbox Time
http://markandcaras.blogspot.com/2015/06/sandbox-time.html
Our Arts and Crafts Home. Tales of fixing up our 100 year old house, my odd garage sale finds and whatever else pops into my head. Saturday, June 13, 2015. I don't remember the last project my husband did, perhaps it was paint 3/4 of the house 5 years ago? Or maybe it was breaking the sink while trying to unclog it last weekend? We picked out some cedar wood. We actually found fence pickets which were the exact length we wanted (minus the 1/2" of picket at the top) and they were $4.97 a board. One thing ...

Our Arts and Crafts Home. Tales of fixing up our 100 year old house, my odd garage sale finds and whatever else pops into my head. Monday, August 11, 2014. This hutch has been lurking in the corner of the dining room because I don't have another place for it! I want to put it in a bedroom as it doesn't match anything on the first floor but I won't have a bedroom spot for it for a while. Now it officially has to move somewhere as I am working on that corner of the room. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Fixing ...

Our Arts and Crafts Home. Tales of fixing up our 100 year old house, my odd garage sale finds and whatever else pops into my head. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. I've been going to garage sales and antique shops since before I was born so it takes a lot to stump me. This first item has me completely stumped as not only do I know nothing about it but I can't tell how old it is. 1930's? Someone had glued foam to the bottom and I was hoping to answer my questions by peeling it off, but nope. Nothing. I was g...
