Sometimes We Just Need to Laugh: March 2008
http://katrinabates.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2008. I told him if my FAVORITE verse was called and he missed it again I was leaving him there and he could find a new home! Empty threats don't really work though do they. . . ) He walked into the church saying Romans 8:28 aloud. Well They didn't call my favorite verse, but Garrett did an excellent job in the drill anyway. He only had 4 mistakes (he was allowed 8) and therefore moves on to the state drill in a few weeks. HOORAY for Garrett! As losT aS yOu. Links to this post. Tonight ...

The McQuirkys: Frosty's Anatomy
http://mcquirkys.blogspot.com/2008/03/frostys-anatomy.html
Quir-ky having or full of quirks. Monday, March 10, 2008. For Christmas this year, my cousin got Zeke and Yana a snowman kit. It came complete with a corncob pipe, a button nose and two eyes made out of coal. (Yes, I had to sing the song in my head.) It also came with 3 buttons, a scar and a top hat. Saturday afternoon, we bundled the kids up in layers of socks, pants, shirts, coats, gloves - the whole shebang. I got my camera ready, opened the side door and off they went! We finished up our day in the s...

The McQuirkys: Car Show
http://mcquirkys.blogspot.com/2008/02/car-show.html
Quir-ky having or full of quirks. Sunday, February 24, 2008. Last night we took the kids to the Auto Show at the Fair and Expo Center - the newly combined New Car Show and Carl Casper Show. The kids and my Dad had a blast checking out all of the cars - me, Jeff and my mom had even more fun checking out the crowd. On the way in, Dad dropped us off at the door. We realized that he had taken a child's ticket and had to wait for him at the door. Yana took a spot behind the driver's seat. It Is What It Is.

The McQuirkys: Kids DO the Darndest Things...
http://mcquirkys.blogspot.com/2008/03/when-i-was-kid-it-was-common-thing-for.html
Quir-ky having or full of quirks. Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Kids DO the Darndest Things. When I was a kid it was a common thing for the children's choir to sing in "big church." We did Sunday morning specials, holiday programs, etc. There was always a kid doing something to get the attention of the congregation - I was the kid who pulled her dress over her head. Now, at first it was out of embarrassment. BUT - me (and the rest of the congregation) can only remember this face:. Once she saw the reaction an...

Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet: The Best of December
http://kristenslittlecorner.blogspot.com/2009/01/best-of-december.html
Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet. Saturday, January 31, 2009. The Best of December. How did I escape my childhood in one piece? Sharon, my clerk at school, got both the kids Christmas outfits and I wanted them to open it at the same time. Audrey was asleep and Aiden couldn't wait. He came running back to my bedroom dressed like this in Audrey's outfit. And proclaimed, "Look! Santa brought me an elf costume! Travis and I laughed so hard our sides hurt! Christmas morning at our house was so exciting...

Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet: Sep 26, 2008
http://kristenslittlecorner.blogspot.com/2008_09_26_archive.html
Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet. Friday, September 26, 2008. Dumb luck or strategy? Sharon, my clerk, gave me a puzzle for my birthday. The object is separate the "x" and remove the square. Only two people have gotten it apart: D'Arci and Matt. Matt claims he has a strategy yet we all know that strategy is dumb luck and a lot of shaking! Yep, we educators can be really. Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet: Jul 24, 2008

Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet. Thursday, July 24, 2008. Greatness Thrust Upon Him. About three years ago, when I was still teaching, a new student walked into my AP Sophomore English class. Don't ask how but I knew he was a special person. Kristen Knighten is his name, all around awesomeness is his game. Project, I told our Theater teacher, Amy Ritchie, that she really needed to see him. Amy and Kirsten talked and that was the beginning of his career in theater. On Thursday July 17, several tea...

Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet. Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Dancy girl and the Jedi Knight. Here are the pictures Renee posted on her website of our photosession last Wednesday at Locust Grove. I love the pictures as she has a wonderful eye. It was a montrously humid day, which explains Audrey's excessive curls and Aiden's sweat drenched hair. She is terrific with the kids and adults. Very easy to work with and such beautiful photos! She knows how to capture the spirits of her subjects.

Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet: Over here, cupid!
http://kristenslittlecorner.blogspot.com/2009/02/over-here-cupid.html
Kristen's Little Corner of the Internet. Saturday, February 14, 2009. Over here, cupid! We ate heart shaped pizza for lunch them opened gifts. Audrey and Aiden each got their own personalized M&M's. Being that they are their favorite candies, both kids loved just getting the M&M's. But they were over the moon when they saw their names on the candy. Aiden got some Star Wars posters for his room. I don't know if he'll even sleep at night now. He may just stay up and stare at the guys on his posters. My mom...
