The problem seems to date back to 2011, at least in Ubuntu. I'm currently running Ubuntu 13.10 (saucy). The system will start to boot fine, but will hang during the boot process. If you've got the right display settings, you'll see the message:. WARNING: There appears to be one or more degraded RAID devices. Mdadm - detail /dev/md127.

Before the fix, the Nexus' WiFi icon in the status bar flips back and forth from blue (good) to grey (disconnected), and network connectivity goes away. A web search confirms that I'm not the only one seeing this problem. The problem dates back to 2012 with many Nexus devices. Just for good measure, I also updated my N300's firmware...
