Eagle Harbor Books: May 2013

Est 1970, Bainbridge Island, WA. May 21, 2013. Kids in the garden. There is something special about kids and gardens. The sight of a youngster digging in the dirt, planting seeds or starts, eagerly waiting for that magic to happen. The pure joy when seeds sprout or vegetables begin to form. The book is a re-release, and Alan Lightman recommends the book. It is a set of short stories with cosmological themes. It is whimsical, in one case having a mollusc imagining it had a mustache. The anthology compared favorably with Primo Levy’s. I am now interested in reading. Thoughts: Neal Stephenson’s Seveneves. Mike Cane's Blog.

No Time to Read. Essays, literature, science commentary, analysis. February 2, 2014. The writing style is evocative of the best elliptical, modern writing! I would peg the book somewhere in between David Foster Wallace (and Roberto Bolano – loved. And Don DeLillo (I didn’t care much for. I read a really engaging book from Alan Sepinwall:.
