November 9, 2012. Posted by Pigs and Bishops under Uncategorized. Sick Working. Sick. Working. Ad nauseam. Then there was the week we all came down with hand, foot and mouth disease, a horror I had never heard of before having Mr Baby and one that adults aren’t supposed to catch. Nasty business. Now we are recovered but possessed by a new sickness, or more rightly the resurgence of an old one indeed. Do we want to move to the country? With not living in the same street as my dearest friend.

April 12, 2013. Posted by Pigs and Bishops under Uncategorized. Off on a six-week jaunt to the States and the Caribbean. I hope to return somewhat more voluble! Already cheerier since I learned today that knitting is now allowed on international flights. Howard redux, the lizard edition. Blog at WordPress.com. Create a free website or blog at WordPress.com.

September 8, 2013. Howard redux, the lizard edition. Posted by Pigs and Bishops under Uncategorized. Sad, sad, sad. These are just the tiny little personal effects; the bigger picture – on refugees, on pollution, on sustainability, on social security – is so horrendous it’s beyond my capacity to think of it just yet. lobstersquad: A sandwich
http://lobstersquad.blogspot.com/2014/10/a-sandwich.html
You know how sometimes you have to call a friend, and you keep putting it off, for good reasons, then bad reasons, then no reasons other than the thing is spiralling out of control, and you end up resenting this person you’re not calling? So it was with lobstersquad. I was looking for something I really wanted to blog about, and not really finding it, but then, reading the Wednesday Chef, I was led to a flummoxing article. And then I thought, you know what, I might as well write something after all.
What To Knit When You're Expecting: Patterns
http://www.whattoknitwhen.com/p/free-patterns.html
A winding cable cuts down the center back of this swingy oversized raglan cardigan. It is lightweight but warm, worked in reverse stockinette with stockinette borders. A wide cowl to cover décolletage. Worked in a trio of stitch patterns; ribbed, garter diamonds, and double-moss, the cowl is fully reversible and available in single- or double-wrapped lengths. Simple and a bit off-kilter. An assymetrical scarf worked from tip to tip. With a picot edging. The looping, twisted cable is worked first. For som...

Thursday, 29 January 2015. 32 Still pregnant. Still lying down. 32 tomorrow. I don't know if it's lack of match fitness from all this bed rest, or my advanced maternal age (three months off being considered 'geriatric'! What can I do for you? This is some kind of spectacular breakthrough for me. As in, I had a psychologist appointment last week, and I DID NOT CRY! Visit #2 and no tears! She'll be happy there. 10 February 2015 at 07:07. http://twoblueshoes.blogspot.com/2015/05/up-yours-sunday.html
Sunday, 17 May 2015. Up yours, Sunday. What a fucking day I've had today. The idea of everyone getting up and dressed and out the door for a walk to the cafe in the brisk sunshine dissolved into me dragging the kid's pyjamas off his body and manhandling him into his clothes, while he wailed at full volume. At least the other child had the decency to put a sock in it for five minutes. 20 May 2015 at 04:14. Oh, you poor darling. The spraying shit! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Up yours, Sunday.
two blue shoes: 33
http://twoblueshoes.blogspot.com/2015/02/33.html
Tuesday, 10 February 2015. I started writing this at 33 weeks, but that was a few days ago now. Closing in on 34. Can you believe it! Nice work on staying put in there, sweet babe. I think we're up to four DIY Romance Was Born. Still working on 'brave'. Or Werribee Zoo. (With the other two school friends who are 2 - 7 weeks more pregnant than I am, so not exactly taking the place by storm.) I have no photographic evidence of this visit. I'm going to lie here and catch up on emails and listen to lovely tu...
two blue shoes: 36 weeks, 36 degrees
http://twoblueshoes.blogspot.com/2015/02/36-weeks-36-degrees.html
Friday, 27 February 2015. 36 weeks, 36 degrees. And it is a sweet, sweet ride. Still haven't really packed a hospital bag or sorted out newborn nappies or read that book by the lady with the funny name about birth skills. Should probably get onto those things. I did order a TENS machine, though. And I have sent a batch of knitted sushi off to a sweet babe on the other side of the world. Happy birthday, little a. Thank you, wealthy mother-in-law! When you going to buy us a house? 27 February 2015 at 15:58.
two blue shoes: June 2015
http://twoblueshoes.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, 25 June 2015. The winter of our content. I love you and you're zooming by so quickly. I have lots of big thoughts. I am getting somewhere. I am doing things. There's not a lot of time left over for here just now. So, some quick photos of the last little while, before winter and its cosiness is gone. Cosiness, yes. Also clotheshorses. #winteriscoming. Moments after this, the laptop ran out of juice, the cat jumped on the clotheshorse and the crash woke the sleeping babe on my chest. Children....
two blue shoes: 37 degrees of separation

Monday, 9 March 2015. 37 degrees of separation. 37 Made it to full-ish term. Last time, I was just finishing up work. Which reminds me, I need to formally organise the maternity leave. Still on sick leave at the moment, but only for another three weeks.). Have I written about this? So he's little. That's ok. Sadly, he has a bang-on average head circumference, so he's not going to save me any grief there. Labels: melbourne is a very small town. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The last day of only.
two blue shoes: 30 billion weeks.
http://twoblueshoes.blogspot.com/2015/03/30-billion-weeks.html
Saturday, 14 March 2015. That's how pregnant I feel. Thirty billion weeks. Today I can't walk! My pelvis is one thousand kinds of tender, and I woke up this morning with crippling sciatica. As in, I am an actual cripple. Cannot put any weight whatsoever on my left leg. Hopefully. The kid has two more birthday parties to go to this weekend. Another hospital check-up on Tuesday. I guess if they start talking about induction, I'll organise an acupuncture appointment. Labels: my weary bones. 39 weeks. Or...
