Sing Me Anything

I've been having some non-Braxton Hicks contractions over the last week, so things are slowly happening. But I really don't have any idea when the big show will take place. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow- we'll see what she says, but for now, we're just.waiting. Enough boring writing. Pictures! 37 weeks, 2 days (September 29). Philip assembles the crib. Modeling my new Moby wrap from Al! 39 weeks (October 11). Philip's winter wheat patch. Studly farmer with his freshly planted wheat berries. Also,...

Sing Me Anything: February 2012

http://www.philipandandrea.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

A few things on my mind:. 1 money (always.) today i paid off all my student loans (yayyyy! Anyway, my loans are paid. that's one thing to be grateful for! 3 exercise. my school is doing a staff fitness challenge through the end of the year. we're on teams and racing to new york. i'm on a pretty incredible team. i can't say i'm contributing my "fair share" of miles (considering i have marathon runners on my team), but i'm certainly out and about more than usual this nasty time of year.

Sing Me Anything: day 1: a different take

http://www.philipandandrea.blogspot.com/2014/08/day-1-different-take.html

Day 1: a different take. First day of school! The main difference this year is that I'm part-time and don't have full homeroom teacher responsibilities. I didn't have the "are all of my kids behaving and making me look like a good teacher? Anxiety during convocation. I didn't tune out the speaker (good thing, since it was my principal! Thinking about everything in the handbook I need to point out to my kids in the next half hour. I could just relax and enjoy the beginning-of-the-year celebration. But tom...

Sing Me Anything: January 2012

http://www.philipandandrea.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

We are on snow day #4 here in whatcom county. my three-day weekend (thanks to mlk, jr. day) turned into a nine-day weekend. I'm not really complaining, except that this was supposed to be exam week, we were supposed to have a nice workday today to grade exams and projects and prepare report cards.and now we're pushing exams to next week. Anyway, today has been much better. i cleaned, actually left the apartment (i did some school planning at the neighborhood coffee house), ate a healthy lunch, and di...

meditations of a montana mountain girl: February 2012

http://fortuitousyetfortunate.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Meditations of a montana mountain girl. Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. Kahlil Gibran. Soap and other homemade things. Making our own beer (Sparrow Hawk Porter, due to be ready in another couple of weeks- and three cheers for FIVE GALLONS of beer! Made the same evening, five gallons of pear mead (which will take 6 months before we can drink it):. Homemade pita bread (from the delicious recipe in the Extending the Table cookbook):. Where...

Meditations of a montana mountain girl. Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. Kahlil Gibran. Ripe red fruit and bright blue birds. Yes, it is the beginning of fruit season. Red, ripe, fruit season. A few strawberries have been eaten. We are drooling over the handful of cherries that just may be ripe by the weekend. Last night after dinner I walked to Mt. Sentinel and made my way up the steep trail to the fire road that runs across the wes...

life is a cookie....: Time is a thief I would rob

http://jstnmlkr.blogspot.com/2014/05/time-is-thief-i-would-rob.html

Life is a cookie. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Time is a thief I would rob. Because I'm always busy. So after editing some pictures (I need new editing software) and updating my cover photo and profile picture on "the facebook", I take some time to sip wine and type. Sometimes you have to start writing before the words actually make sense. But I know the things I miss. The book in my hands and the small body in my lap. The little voice telling me their favourite things as we stare up at the ceiling. Why I Woul...

meditations of a montana mountain girl: January 2012

http://fortuitousyetfortunate.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Meditations of a montana mountain girl. Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. Kahlil Gibran. Waiting for the bread to rise. The other night, I was feeling peckish, so I looked in the fridge for snack possibilities. There was a container of hummus just waiting to be eaten, but alas, no bread to go with it. So I pulled out my Extending the Table. I wish I could ski from my house every day . . . Last weekend we got together with our friends Evan...

Life is a cookie. Sunday, December 22, 2013. I was out at my parents house in Frankfort yesterday and built another play area. It was a few hour job and now there is a wonderful platform that is easy to climb up on in any of 4 ways.
