eclat du jour: a quick survey
http://eclatdujour.blogspot.com/2011/08/quick-survey.html
Overall, Hurricane Irene didn't do a ton of damage in New Haven, and its widest-felt result is the loss of power (which I will take ANY DAY over a flooded basement! I decided to move my car to a parking lot on a hill and while that was not actually necessary in the end, it helped me to rest a bit easier without worrying about rising waters ruining it. (In fact there was no significant flooding here, yay! This was also pretty common - a single large limb broken from the tree. Chris learned from neighbors ...

eclat du jour: arboretum and wedding
http://eclatdujour.blogspot.com/2011/12/arboretum-and-wedding.html
In September I flew back to Minnesota to attend my cousin Richard's wedding. The day before his wedding, my mom and I took a tour around the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It was really a great afternoon and I appreciate the gardens much more as an adult (I was probably under the age of 15 the last time I visited). Here's Richard and Liz during their first dance as a married couple. I love that picture of you and your mom! December 6, 2011 at 6:03 PM. Long time no post! December 30, 2012 at 3:07 AM.

eclat du jour: rehearsal dinner
http://eclatdujour.blogspot.com/2011/06/rehearsal-dinner.html
For those of you who don't know, my computer died! So, I haven't really been able to do anything with the blog. Luckily, I backed up my computer about 2 months ago so I shouldn't be missing anything terribly important and luckily many of my photos from Amber's wedding weekend are still on my camera. So I can at least share a few more photos that I uploaded to picasa last week (thanks go to Chris for letting me steal his mac momentarily):. Amber watches during the wedding rehearsal:. So much to comment on!

momosarah: Schoooool's out for Summer! (Sorta)
http://momosarah.blogspot.com/2014/06/schoooools-out-for-summer-sorta.html
Life and love in the cirque de doggett. Favorite Photo of the Day. Monday, June 16, 2014. Schoooool's out for Summer! The local public schools ended their year on Thursday, and since I have one child enrolled in middle school, it was her last day of school. As such, I thought the occasion needed to be marked with something. How did we survive? So, I couldn't get my new fave brownie. Recipe. So I picked up one of my old friends, The Enchanted Broccoli Forest. Oh yes. A new tradition, perhaps? A little but...

Life and love in the cirque de doggett. Favorite Photo of the Day. Monday, September 24, 2012. It's late, and I should be sleeping, but I am not. This is often the truth, lately. I am stealing moments of solitude and quiet after everyone goes to sleep. Stealing them from myself, because of my real need for sleep. Do we just forge down the path some more making mistakes, forgiving each other, only to bash again, like two billy-goats, the next time our feathers are ruffled. yes, I know mixing metaphors.

eclat du jour: catching up
http://eclatdujour.blogspot.com/2011/11/catching-up.html
Lately it seems like life has been controlling me and I've just been along for the ride, holding tightly to my seat. Well, hopefully I can change that a bit. Regarding this blog, yesterday I said the words "I don't write in it anymore" and then a little pang of disappointment washed over me and thought, WHY? There's really no good reason, except that I haven't made the time. So, I'll be doing some catching up. Let's see what happens! Good to see you are back! November 6, 2011 at 10:44 PM. Bed in a box.
