Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Booting from an USB memory. I managed to boot from a USB memory stick, which meant I had to start from scratch. I couldn't recover the VM I had creatd before (and I didn't even try to be honest). I followed the instructions on the following link to create the USB ESXi. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. It turns out I seem to have deleted the partition ESXi used to install itself on my HDD. I don't know how this happened, but that seems to be the case. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Booting automaticall from USB. I finally found the hack to boot automatically on my motherboard from the USB pen I have the ESXi installed on. I selected HDD to begin with, but this didn't let me put it on the boot priority list. I finally got the 8Gb I bought for this machine. I installed them and rebooted, and got only 3.2 available!
