Pebbleorium: Announcing April

http://www.pebbleorium.blogspot.com/2013/04/announcing-april.html

Monday, April 8, 2013. In the roadside hawthorne top. On a twig between opening leaf wads. A rufus sided towhee throws back it’s head. Angles it’s beak wide against gray sky. Blasts its musical plastic rattle whistle -. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Small Stones are little pieces of writing that capture moments of paying attention. Most are only a line or two and take just a moment of focused observation and a few minutes of jotting and polishing. More About Small Stones. A Handful of Stones.

Pebbleorium: Pruning

http://www.pebbleorium.blogspot.com/2013/03/pruning.html

Friday, March 8, 2013. I’ve been out in the damp gray. With my new red-gripped secateurs. Puzzling through pruning the pear tree. Up the ladder to look at each twig. Down the ladder to look at the whole tree. Back up the ladder to snip here, snip there. One decision after another,. Take it or leave it? This limb or that? Take out crossovers, take out verticals,. Take the obviously dead, and the worst. Of the green and gray lichen crusted. Try to shape branches for graceful reach. More About Small Stones.

Monday, February 3, 2014. Down the back of my little finger. Off a toasted, buttered croissant. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Small Stones are little pieces of writing that capture moments of paying attention. Most are only a line or two and take just a moment of focused observation and a few minutes of jotting and polishing. Many of the pieces I post here are actually bigger rocks, or strings of small stones. I do aim to stay with closely focused observation even if I have a little bigger story to tell.

Pebbleorium: November 2012

http://www.pebbleorium.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 29, 2012. I’m the filling in a cozy blanket sandwich,. Ruthless Morning peels back the layers. And eats me plain. Monday, November 5, 2012. Smell of damp earth and coming rain. Smell of drifting wood smoke. Sunday, November 4, 2012. Upstream a dribbling fall flowing. Beneath a green-mossed log,. A rocky gurgle chattering beside me,. The shoooshing spill below the trail -. How many voices between. Mountain top and sea? Saturday, November 3, 2012. Grey rain veils obscure the valley.
