Ethics: "Experience kills innocence"
http://liliethics.blogspot.com/2008/10/experience-kills-innocence.html
Miércoles, 29 de octubre de 2008. In his poems, William Blake describes Innocence and Experience as two contrary states of the Human soul, both important and inseparable. I think that to interprete those poems and Blake's warning us that it's not possible or desirable to choose between both states of Innocence and Experience, it was necessary for Rita to have been in such states at a particular time and that was what has happened to her. my_thoughts: Moving on
http://miriam-mythoughts.blogspot.com/2008/10/moving-on.html
Friday, 17 October 2008. I was one told by my psychologist that when we want something to change, it’s us who should start changing because that will inevitably produce changes, not only on ourselves but also on the people around us. How authentic is Rita's "change", Miru? Whose "laws" is she living by at this stage? What books does she now think good? Who is she listening to? Is there actually much difference between living the way our parents expected us to and living the way our friends expect us to?

Ethics: Ready for a new challenge
http://liliethics.blogspot.com/2008/11/get-ready.html
Martes, 25 de noviembre de 2008. Ready for a new challenge. 5 Do you think Rita has gained or suffered as a result of her education? I think that Rita both has suffered and gained as a result of her education. Having married a selfish and jealous man, she felt sophocated, living an ordinary life. But she had a gut feeling that life was not just like that; that there was something to know to understand it and she was determined to find it. She decided to be educated. I agree with you, Lili. I think th...

Lunes, 17 de noviembre de 2008. Etiquetas: Programme of study. When cultures meet, conflict is bound to arise, Lu. Now, if school was created precisely to promote that (the meeting of cultures, I meet), then school should also prepare learners to deal with the conflict this brings about, right? PS: the quote may be inexact (have to rush to school now, and can't check! But the spirit is intact :-P! 9 de diciembre de 2008, 0:51. I'll keep on thinking about this. 14 de diciembre de 2008, 17:43.

Sábado, 26 de abril de 2008. As you sow, you shall reap". Cap 4 Date la buena vida. In my opinion, Savater is right when he thinks that his son should use his freedom to live a good life which is indeed to have a good human life, that is to say, a life among human beings in a process of reciprocity with each other. I think that we live a good life when we do the right thing to others because in that way we feel good. Nor should we forget that "As you sow, you shall reap". Where, there is injury, pardon;.

my_thoughts: Educating Rita and Frank
http://miriam-mythoughts.blogspot.com/2008/10/educating-rita-and-frank.html
Thursday, 30 October 2008. Educating Rita and Frank. After finishing reading the book, I came to the conclusion that it’s not only Rita who learns during the course of the play but also Frank. There is plenty of evidence that suggests my interpretation. The final scene in which Rita cuts Frank’s air shows really graphically that a student-teacher relationship is always reciprocal: you give and learn something, no matter how much experience you have on that field. 24 November 2008 at 10:01. I meant Frank ...

Ethics: Be Unique
http://liceoluciag.blogspot.com/2008/10/be-unique.html
Domingo, 19 de octubre de 2008. Rita has a perfectly clear picture of the kind of person she wants to become. The sad aspect of this decision is that she wants to change everything about herself, ignoring her incredible uniqueness. She needs to be just like the rest of people, losing in that wish her precious identity. Etiquetas: Educating Rita / Act 1 Scenes 7and 8. 29 de octubre de 2008, 12:43. I like your post very much. Lunes, 31 de marzo de 2008. Is this what I really believe? We will never be free, we will be like entities that can be easily controlled. I particularly like the way the book is written and the role the writer takes as a father talking to his son, who wants to transmit all what he has learnt, reflect and experience throughout his life advising him to trust himself and at the same time, learn from his son too, so that enrich each other’s lives.
