Sunday, January 15, 2012. I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this. After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland.". You say. "What do you mean Holland? I signed up for Italy! It’s just a dif...

My favorite quote I heard recently was "The days are long, but the years are short." This is so true. As you see how quickly each child reaches milestones and continues growing, you really can see how quickly they are ours to have. Good job my sweet Amryn! Posted by Jyl Clark. Sunday, May 23, 2010. Adrian receives his Arrow of Light in Scouts. We also wen...

Soft Landing: April 2010
http://suttonsfive.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Me and my house. Saturday, April 24, 2010. Before I finish up my summation of the school year, Nov thru April, I wanted to jot down these little interactions before I forget them. Lying bed with Luke at night, he quietly muses with disappointment, "the teacher said Marielle has to go to the big class and I have to go to the little kid class. But I thought I was a big boy.".
