Metricon Grandview 36: April 2011
http://metricon.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 11, 2011. Day 196 - April 10th (Day 52). Took it a little easier this weekend. The grass has started to take root, so I gave it a light trim unitl it establishes itself a little better, It's amazing (to me) how green it is. It must be the preparatory work we did beforehand. We added some special loam to it all before hand and the grass seems to be loving it. We will need to add some sand in between the areas where we either got the level wrong, the grass missed or the soil sank! Still need ...

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Day 64 - November 30th. Well there goes another month. And with it my moustache that I have been growing for our Movember cause we have at our work place. We have managed to get $725, which I reckon was a pretty good effort! This is the crew from work who joined in. Someone's Mo hair fell out two days before it was due to end.I suspect the wife had something to do with it? Anyway. They got out a Nikko pen and drew it back on him! As well as the skirting. It's just not what I li...

Thursday, September 30, 2010. Day 3 - September 30th. Today I met up with our Site Supervisor. I haven't been able to meet him up until this point due to work. The Site Supervisor explained what they have done so far and where they are expecting to get to by next week. The roll out will be:. 1) Today the concrete piers are to be installed. These serve to keep the house from sinking! 3) Depending upon the weather, they may come on site on Saturday to prepare for the slab. Now for the pictures. Note: I hav...

Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Day 360 September 20th (Day 216). The sun is out and it is really starting to warm up! It's going to be a hot summer. On the last post I mentioned that I had contacted Energex to ask them for some compensation since they were delayed in getting the Solar panels connected to the Grid. Well it was worth while. We got a cheque for $242.49. I'll get some photos of everything soon. Posted by Robert Richmond. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Day 360 September 20th (Day 216). Building ou...

Saturday, May 21, 2011. Day 237 - May 21st (Day 93). This week we had the solar panels installed by FreeSolar. When we purchased the unit in April it cost $6995 for the 3kW unit. Today it costs $9550. I'm sure glad we did it back then! Using a 3KW system, you could hope to have it generate 12.6kWh per day. Using the minimum feed in tarriff of 44 cents, your system would generate $5.54 per day ($6.55 if you managed to get 52 cents! I have know idea whether this might happen though! Another way to look at ...

Friday, December 31, 2010. Day 95 - December 31st (Day 42 of 65). Well I have been looking into building the deck area of our new home. I found some information about the project at Bunnings, at other parts of it around the internet. I thought I would write down everything I have found out so far for the rear deck, so I can work out a total price. Hazard Classesare designated as H1 through to H6. H1 and H2 are only for timber that is protected from the weather and H6 is for marine applications. Now when ...

http://metricon.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 26, 2011. Day 152 - February 26th (Day 8). Well we've been living in our new home for a week now. Our site supervisor came by yesterday to finish fixing the last of the items we had noted. About the only issue we haven't had fixed just yet is the water tank. This isn't Metricon's fault however, as we arranged the install of the unit ourselves. Not sure what is taking them so long long however? We started by marking the border. The neighbours have now had their land cut. We went out yes...
