As many of you know, we have been working to get Emily a visa to the UK so that we can move back and live there. The kind of visa we need is a settlement visa for family members (specifically spouses) and we have been at it for a long time. We hope that we can be in the 60%-odd of applications that are decided within 5 days (or at least not long after that! June 5, 2012 at 12:0...

We arrived back from a great youth club camp tired, missing all the campers, but also slightly relieved that we had made it through camp and out the other side! I gladly accepted and another call today confirmed that the extended policy I had been sold had indeed been cancelled, we were getting a free replacement and it would arrive on Friday! Just another orumu.org site. Skip to primary content. March 20, 2013. Two Easters ago we were in turmoil. Japan was reeling from immediate effects of the Tohoku earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. Oasa Church had just welcomed it’s first new pastor after 30 odd years. And we were trying to organise an Easter programme. It was hard to settle down and appreciate what Easter is all about. This entry was posted in Church. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You may use these. I wrote on Flat3D about Christmas back in 2008 (you can read it here. It was a few days before Christmas, I had just arrived in Japan and had experienced some strange Christmas build up in Singapore and Sapporo. It got be thinking about the meaning of Christmas, why we celebrate the way we do and whether it was a good thing or not…. A course for candidates. Free as in fridge.

Just another orumu.org site. Skip to primary content. November 13, 2012. For some this is a bit obvious, but Sunday was Remembrance Day. Here in the UK. The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the time and date that World War I officially ended. But the day isn’t just in remembrance of WWI or even necessarily limited to British Armed Forces, but rather of those who have given their lives for their country, defending it and upholding it. OMF European Candidates Induction Course (ECIC) is supposed to be a one shot deal. You go once when you are joining OMF and get inducted! So how come I find myself here for the third time? The first time I came was way back in 2005 before I went to Japan as an OMF associate for a year. OMF itself has changed a lot since 2008. Internationally and locally here in the UK, the people w...

Just another orumu.org site. Skip to primary content. June 7, 2012. This morning Emily went into Tokyo to apply for her visa with all of the documents we had prepared, translated, gathered etc etc. So Emily’s trip to Tokyo today was a wasted journey. Now we have to apply to Ebetsu City hall for new certificates, translate them and Emily will need to make another trip into Tokyo. This entry was posted in Family. 2 thoughts on “ BUT….
