The human experience: the bonding, the anguish, the joy and the suckiness. Sunday, December 28, 2014. For over a week now, RJ and I have noticed that "someone's" urine has been appearing really dark in the toilet bowl - an alarming, unnatural brown. First I chalked it up to dehydration. Plus, it wasn't happening ALL the time. RJ, the ever-diligent research scholar, read up on possibilities and grew very concerned. Last night we decided to run an experiment to see who was the contributor. Even though the ...

The human experience: the bonding, the anguish, the joy and the suckiness. Sunday, September 28, 2014. And You May Quote Me 66. I don't have a solution. At least I can choose not to contribute to the problem. Links to this post. I like food. I don't like emotions. Links to this post. This morning, right after wishing a "friend" happy birthday, I read that she was "against the movement" (the protests in Hong Kong). Against democracy, a just voting system, freedom of speech? Who is AGAINST those things?

The human experience: the bonding, the anguish, the joy and the suckiness. Saturday, September 13, 2014. Went to the Oddball Comedy Fest last night. It was very cool. First time seeing Louis C.K. live for both RJ and myself. Worth the anticipation. Everything else was icing on the cake. I saw enough silver foxes around to identify with and feel jaded alongside. Ageism is becoming a harsh reality that I have grown increasingly and painfully aware of. Which brings me to the point of why Louis C.K. ...Turni...

The human experience: the bonding, the anguish, the joy and the suckiness. Tuesday, May 28, 2013. My Ex-Mother-In-Law's Salad Dressing Recipe. I made that tonight. It is not exactly a recipe - just something she'd throw together. You know, as cooks do. Hadn't made that in years. Had no desire to in years. I got sick over Memorial Day weekend. Getting sick is always a good time for self-pity and reminiscence. The good old days of when someone would take care of you. Especially when you got sick. With whic...

Technically, since I was born in Asia, I turned 44 yesterday as of 9 am Which means that I celebrate two days in a row. This year, said friend wised up. Along with those who truly know me, she PM'd me her well wishes instead. I appreciate that. But it is still semi-bittersweet. The few days prior to my birthday, I couldn't help but feel forgotten. I wasn't ...A cou...

Just a mom raising The Boy (adopted from Guatemala) along with my fabulous husband (MFH). I am a shoe whore, especially of the high heeled variety. Hence, the nickname. Wednesday, May 31, 2006. The Boy with The Mullet. Doesn't he have awesome hair? Not to mention those cheeks! I was shopping for clothes at T@rget one day when a mom I didn't know pointed out some shorts on the clearance rack. I said they were nice and the price was right, but The Boy wouldn't wear them. The Boy knows exactly who he is.

Just a mom raising The Boy (adopted from Guatemala) along with my fabulous husband (MFH). I am a shoe whore, especially of the high heeled variety. Hence, the nickname. Monday, July 31, 2006. I've often marveled at a mother's ability to love all her children the same. I know my heart just bursts at the seams when I think of my son and how much I love him. Have I ever wondered if I could love another child as much as I love him? Her - "Boy we had a scare this week.". Posted by Well-heeled mom @ 10:31 AM.
