Windows ANE for native dialogs. My post on creating native alerts with Adobe AIR. Has proven to be quite popuplar so I decided to follow it up with something even better (at least for Windows apps). Recently I have been dabbling in a bit of C# for creating Windows Store apps as well as some C/C to try and figure out how to create Native Extensions (ANE) for Adobe AIR. As a first ANE I decided to make a native dialog extension. Extensions for this already exist for iOS and Android.

Reverse engineering Captivate for HTML5 widgets. Problem 1: Create a custom slide index widget. This is pretty much impossible in the Flash publish. I needed a widget that would automatically get all the slide labels and generate an index. After a bit of digging thanks to Chrome’s dev tools, I discovered that most slide information can be found in the ‘toc’ global object on main Captivate window. It works similar to the last grid except it uses squares rotated 45 degrees, so it is basically a regular grid tipped on its side with even-odd number alternating rows.
