Under the Influence of Rocks: December 2006
http://helenglennandwoody.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Under the Influence of Rocks. Sunday, December 31, 2006. We meet our friends and we all pile in the minivan with luggage and set off for Quartzsite. This isn't the rush hour. The traffic is like this constantly. Even through the night it is heavy. Makes me laugh when I think of traffic reports for Perth. If it takes us an extra ten minutes to get home we complain! Oh, well maybe not everyone. I've heard some people say how ugly wind farms can be but I think they are quite beautiful. Pretty neat, huh?

living up in the trees: New Zealand Trip 2011
http://wearelivingupinthetrees.blogspot.com/2011/04/new-zealand-trip-2011.html
Living up in the trees. This is really living. Saturday, April 09, 2011. New Zealand Trip 2011. Click on images to enlarge). It's March 2011 and Glenn decides it's time to drag himself away from his rocks and take a holiday. Shall we go to New Zealand? I say, Yyyyyyyessss! So, with dogs and cat suitably ensconced in kennels and cattery, we hop on an Air New Zealand flight direct to Auckland. What an excellent airline! Apart from that, it was fine. I'd heard of it but had no idea how amazing it would be a...

http://helenglennandwoody.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Under the Influence of Rocks. Friday, January 13, 2006. At the moment we are at The Rock and Gem Show at Quartzsite. The best rocks, of course, are Australian! Above is Mookaite and Orbicular Granite. Below is Tiger Eye. End of January we will move on to Tucson until mid February when we will return home to Australia. I'm in America and received an email from a friend telling me she had just started blogging! So here I am. Probably talking to myself. But isn't it amazing? How exciting this is!

http://wearelivingupinthetrees.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Living up in the trees. This is really living. Sunday, May 08, 2011. I bought this dear sweet little dog a toy. It had a squeaker. Yes, "had". Does not have a squeaker anymore. So I bought him one of those "Kongs". They are TOUGH toys for TOUGH dogs. He ripped the end off that too! And it didn't even have a squeaker! Now he's got his eye on Woody's Kong. I think I'll have to purchase a "Kong Extreme"! Just a little one.). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My 'special stuff' blog - Purple.

living up in the trees: December 2009
http://wearelivingupinthetrees.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Living up in the trees. This is really living. Monday, December 28, 2009. Christmas in Sydney 2009. We left the horrendous heat of Perth behind when we went to Sydney for Christmas. The remains of a Western Australian cyclone had moved across the country and dropped gallons of rain on dry New South Wales farmland. Sydney, however, protected by the Blue Mountains only received cool drizzle. But this suited us all. No, they aren't rats under the table. They're dogs. Buzz Lightyear. (tee hee). It's a specta...

Living up in the trees. This is really living. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Walk from Parkerville to Swan View. We had a perfect day to walk the 8.4kms through forest,. Beside waterfalls and through an old railway tunnel. And I have the honour of washing his clothes! A jug orchid growing in the centre of an old burnt out tree stump. Yellow cowslip orchids Caladenia flava. Sunday, September 19, 2010. This is a Silky Blue orchid. Not so many of these this year, so far anyway. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Living up in the trees. This is really living. Friday, January 01, 2010. A walk on New Year's Day morning. It's wonderfully cool. It is 6am and the sun is shining on the bright green new leaves bursting from the blackened tree trunks. I thought all the flowers and orchids had finished; we have, after all, had 40 degree days recently and no rain for weeks. But lo and behold, two blooms I don't remember seeing before. living up in the trees: May 2009
http://wearelivingupinthetrees.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Living up in the trees. This is really living. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. A couple of weeks ago we had a storm and the air turned yellow. Looking out from the balcony at the burnt side of the block the bush went a rusty orange colour. There's no 'photoshopping' here! Glenn found this little fellow under a drum the other day. Don't worry, he put him back where he found him after the photo shoot. Woody found him VERY interesting! There is a definite likeness, don't you think? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
