http://cinemanrityagharana.blogspot.com/2011/08/gorgeous-kathak-dance-in-khudito-pashan.html
About Me and Contact. A Gorgeous Kathak Dance in Khudito Pashan (1960, Bengali). Wednesday, August 24, 2011. After watching Roshan Kumari's wonderfully crisp and technical Kathak dance. In Satyajit Ray's Jalsaghar. I wondered if there were any other Kathak performances in black-and-white Indian films that could match it! I've certainly come across lots of mujras, but I've been aching to find another performance aiming for more 'pure dance' style Kathak choreography. And the minute touches she gives her p...

About Me and Contact. Anjana Banerjee’s Bharatanatyam in Chhandaneer (Bengali, 1989). Sunday, August 26, 2012. I first learned of Anjana Banerjee whilst browsing YouTube for Bharatanatyam dance videos a while ago. You might have seen her infamous video titled “Anjana Banerjee – Hilarious Bharatanatyam Dancer” where she gives a performance that is so incredibly bad it's deliciously hilarious! Take a look at this priceless piece of Doordarshan TV history:. And how did she get on TV in the first place?

Film Classical Dances of Lakshmi Gopalaswamy | Cinema Nritya
http://cinemanrityagharana.blogspot.com/2011/06/film-classical-dances-of-lakshmi.html
About Me and Contact. Film Classical Dances of Lakshmi Gopalaswamy. Friday, June 17, 2011. Photo by Ragesh Vasudevan. I'm going to stray from my usually-verbose manner and get straight to the point: Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is my favorite female filmi classical dancer of the current generation actively performing in films. I think she is, quite simply, the best in terms of technical prowess! Outside of the promising start of Manju Warrier (who gave a nice performance as the second dancer in this song. Lakshmi...

Film Classical Dances of Vineeth | Cinema Nritya
http://cinemanrityagharana.blogspot.com/2010/11/film-classical-dances-of-vineeth.html
About Me and Contact. Film Classical Dances of Vineeth. Sunday, November 28, 2010. For some time, I've been curious to find all of Vineeth's classical dance numbers in film. From what I've seen, he seems to be the best male classical dancer in Indian films, certainly surpassing the much more well-known Kamal Hassan. Trained in Bharatanatyam from a young age and an award winner at Kerala youth festivals, he was clearly very talented from the start! But there didn't seem to be that. According to this inter...
