molly in monrovia: aaaaaand we're back (with a list!)

http://www.mollyinmonrovia.blogspot.com/2012/01/aaaaaand-were-back-with-list.html

Monday, January 23, 2012. Aaaaaand we're back (with a list! So i've been pretty terrible about this, huh? I'd like to blame the lack of internet here (seriously, i can skype from, like, three places in the whole country), but, yeah.mostly lazy. however, on my full page, single-spaced list of new year's resolutions, "blog more" is on there. it's right between "wash feet before getting into bed" and "remember that waxing belligerent about the use of human terrain teams. Go up to the roof of the ducor hotel.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Incoming election results from liberia media center. So my roommate (who's been itching for a shout out here [ironically, i think, but nuts to that].so there you go, a.) just showed me the liberian media center. A joint initiative of the Liberia media community. conceived to address access to collective resources and professionalization of the country's media sector". They've got a nifty if HIGHLY unofficial vote count going live. God i'm a luddite). Additionally, there’s...

molly in monrovia: liberian english: enjoy yourself!

http://www.mollyinmonrovia.blogspot.com/2012/01/liberian-english-enjoy-yourself.html

Friday, January 27, 2012. Liberian english: enjoy yourself! So, liberian english is an experience. as you can hear in this clip. Enjoy (v): to have a good time; to party. 8220;wha’ you will do this weekend? 8220;we jus’ enjoy ourself, shake small-oh” (“we’ll have some fun, do a little dancing”). Apparently i have something resembling "moves" here. i know, i'm as surprised as you.unless i was actually being made fun of, in which case that makes so much more sense). Happy friday, enjoy your weekend! Expat ...

molly in monrovia: a response to "world's worst places"

http://www.mollyinmonrovia.blogspot.com/2012/01/response-to-worlds-worst-places.html

Monday, January 23, 2012. A response to "world's worst places". West point from the ducor roof. When i first saw morovia at #5 in recently published gadling blog post, “world’s worst places: top ten places you do not want to visit in 2012 ”. I indulged a moment of gloating… take THAT, friends in kinshasa. I am SO MUCH TOUGHER than I was six months ago in kathmandu. Blush and christ on a cracker…the vice guide to liberia is “great”? No no it’s not. On the huff po travel blog? Food safety in glass houses.

molly in monrovia: photos from the guinea border

http://www.mollyinmonrovia.blogspot.com/2012/01/photos-from-guinea-border.html

Monday, January 23, 2012. Photos from the guinea border. So i checked off 1/3 of an adventure list. Item when i popped over into guinea while i was in nimba county for a planning meeting last week. the border gaurds were like, really enthusiastic about chatting in rudimentary french and getting in photos with us, so i guess all's generally quiet on the north-western front. This is what i look like after two days of meetings in the world's hottest high school gymnasium. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

International Emergency Medicine: September 2012

http://ben-iem.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 26, 2012. For the most part, Cambodian children are playful, healthy, obedient to their parents, and polite to strangers. They learn to play with practically nothing, and have the biggest smiles across their faces. They lack the unattractive commercialism and sense of entitlement that many western kids have. Many of them start working around the age of 6 to help support their families. Although most people live in absolute poverty, religious and cultural monuments are spectacular&#46...

I wrote the following post back in October but never ended up publishing it. I'm not sure why I forgot about it! Updated notes in []. Yesterday [25 October 2014]. I went to Cambodia's annual Social Enterprise Conference. Sothea was excited for the conference. I'm pretty sure she's going to start her own business some day. But immersion is nearly impossible. From what I've seen, there appear to be several reasons for the differences between the expat experience in Cambodia and in India:. There is a significantly higher concentration of expats in Cambodia. Cambodia receives more foreign aid per capita than any other country, and with foreign aid...

This was my second time to Vietnam, as my brother Ben and I visited the country for a few weeks back in 2011. I love Vietnam and highly recommend a visit! I went to the Mekong Delta. Sunday, August 8, 2010. Here’s how it works: Soccer makes me happy. And soccer, according to the Tea Party folks, is a socialist game. Here’s the reasoning behind that:. 1 Soccer is a team game. Teamwork is socialism. 2 It reflects European Economic values, and everyone knows the EU is a socialist organization. So… I guess I’m a socialist. 8221; repeatedly, which really is the only thing you can say when your keeper lets a half-hearted American kick roll gently between his arms and into the goal. Molly in Motion | For in Him we live and move and have our being

For in Him we live and move and have our being. July 10, 2015. I was also a bit frustrated with God. Why would he take me to places and people that I would fall for and eventually have to leave? It was this second time in the Manhattan church last Sunday that God whispered, “Don’t you see? I showed you exactly where you were going. And this is what made me think, isn’t this all just a taste of where we are going? Of an eternal life that’s to come? And it seems more relevant these days than others. What a...

The pit is huge – also nice – and the theater seats 2,835. We’ve had incredibly enthusiastic audiences so far! Off to a 5-show weekend…! As the capi...
