http://mismatchedquilter.blogspot.com/2010/09/goodbye-good-boy.html

Just thoughts about my life and the progress of my quilting, with lots of pictures. Friday, September 17, 2010. For anyone still checking this blog, I just wanted to share that Kipper died today. He survived surgery for an intestinal blockage that was caused by him eating a wash cloth but it had done too much damage. I'll miss my best friend and companion for the last 12 1/2 years so very much. Katie. Friday, September 17, 2010. I am so very sorry. Hugs to you. He was a wonderful friend and companion thr...

Just thoughts about my life and the progress of my quilting, with lots of pictures. Thursday, March 12, 2009. Yes, this pie is as good as it looks. And it has no sugar added. Now is the strawberry season here in Florida. You can buy them at the strawberry farm, farmer's market or grocery store. I bought a half flat. Here's the recipe. It is so simple. Bake and cool pie crusts. See my April 17, 2007 post for a no-fail recipe. Wash, hull and slice 4 cups of strawberries. Put in baked, cooled pie crust.

Just thoughts about my life and the progress of my quilting, with lots of pictures. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Look what I just brought home from the grocery store! I stopped to buy some cottage cheese and found some great looking produce at very good prices. Those tomatoes smell so good. They are definitely vine ripened and were $1 per pound. The broccoli heads were the same price and the corn was 19 cents per ear. The pineapple was $2. Mine is fresh lemon juice and Splenda. I do enjoy food. That's the w...

Just thoughts about my life and the progress of my quilting, with lots of pictures. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Our senior citizen dogs will not be with us forever but we can't imagine how our lives will be without them. Libby and her DH are living through the sadness. Of the death of their dear Harper. Harper will be missed by her family and by many blog friends. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Seeing those sweet brown eyes just makes me smile. Thank you so much, Katie and Kipper *s*. Just thoughts about my life and the progress of my quilting, with lots of pictures. Monday, January 04, 2010. I've been reading books lately. Although I read many types of books, I love historical novels. While spending time sitting with my friend Shirley while she slept, I began reading the John Jakes trilogy. My DD1 gave me a book for Christmas that has become my favorite ever book. It is titled. The Art of Racing in the Rain. Monday, January 04, 2010. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). How Cold Is It?

Bits and Pieces from Katie

http://bitsandpiecesfromkatie.blogspot.com/2006/12/chocolate-labrador-puppy-had-been.html

Bits and Pieces from Katie. This and that about now and then. Wednesday, December 06, 2006. The chocolate Labrador puppy had been wandering around the house for hours poking his nose into every little nook. He was doing fine until he came to the top of steps that went down tothe basement. He spend several minutes trying to figure out what to do. Then he." (Using a dog as inspiration I wrote.). What was going on? They had gone away and he was not in his big wire kennel. http://bitsandpiecesfromkatie.blogspot.com/2006/06/bit-of-writing-from-bottom-of-stairs.html

Bits and Pieces from Katie. This and that about now and then. Wednesday, June 28, 2006. From the bottom of the stairs, Mike's eyes moved up to the kitchen. With a sigh, he realized never before had he looked at these stairs, or any stairs for that matter. He'd simply rushed through the door and bounded into the kitchen. His feet must have touched wood but he had no recollection of it. Where should he begin? Could he just do part of them? Posted by Katie @ 5:50 PM. Michigan/Florida, United States.

Bits and Pieces from Katie. This and that about now and then. Saturday, May 27, 2006. Oh, the Sweet William. I have a few in my front yard. I got the seeds from my brother-in-law several years ago. They are hard to keep growing in my flower garden but grow wild everywhere by the road ditches. My DBL covers his so the birds can't eat all of them. Notice my chair in the top pic and the bee in the last one. Need smellervision to really appreciate these. They are so much nicer full. Posted by Katie @ 1:28 PM.

My quilting, stitching, cooking and a few random thoughts. Thursday, December 24, 2009. I feel like a big, woolly bear, crawling out of my cozy den on Christmas Eve to just have a look see. After a long stretch, a healthy yawn and a sigh, I want to wish my friends out there in blog land a very Merry Christmas. Add to that a healthy dose of good wishes for a bright New Year, and back into that warm, cozy spot, I go. May you all be so very blessed. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Is it growing on me? I am going to throw caution to the wind and do a block out of order to spice things up a bit! Let's see, should I do seven or eight next? Monday, April 27, 2009. Bits and Pieces from Katie. This and that about now and then. Thursday, June 29, 2006. Carol gave a deep sigh and looked away. Her memories came rushing back with such vivid clarity that it seemed like the events from her childhood, so long ago, had just happened. Posted by Katie @ 5:13 PM. I tried to make a couple corrections but they won't go thu for some reason. Oh, me. Katie. Great writing. It captures a moment that I think many can relate to. Mismatched Mess | of life, love, fashion, & forgetting to update

Of life, love, fashion, and forgetting to update. There’s a calm in my mind that exists at a time that doesn’t make sense. There’s a warmth that spreads through me like a sleepy river, constant and unwavering. The calm glides through me and into you, and your calm floats downstream into me. We trust what we cannot know. We connect and reconnect. We hurt, but we hurt together. We bring the calm. What can the imagination truly erase, if it’s written on someone else’s memory? If it’s written on someon...

A blog of Neuroscience, Studio Art, and everything in between. Out of all of the books that we’ve studied over the past two years, John Keats was the hardest for me to get critics of. Most of the critics of his time HATED Leigh Hunt, and kinda didn’t notice Keats own work even when they were writing essays on why it sucks. Luckily, the Intrenet exists today. More critics from other time period’s opinions matter now. Here are some to spice up your A2 essays:. Lines to Die for: Othello. Looking again at th...

Mismatched Musings

Yeah, yeah. Everyone's got a blog these days. Here's mine. Thursday, December 16. Nice Try, Ajito. I'll admit it; my tongue discriminates against race. Does it want sushi prepared by an ethnicity other than Japanese? The widely anglicized Panda Express? When I stumbled upon a relatively new yakitori establishment アジト. In my hometown of Cerritos earlier this week, I was hesitant to try it. The largest ethnic group in the surrounding area is NOT Japanese, hence, my palate wavered. Regarding the yakitori it...

A Mismatched Reader

Embracing a love for books and randomness! Tuesday, January 10, 2017. A Quick Ice Breaker Post. To post about music (or anime or K dramas) again since that's what I'm most passionate about right now, but I'm challenging myself to focus on books! I got a LOT of new books, oddly enough. As a quick ice breaker, I thought it would be nice to share some random books I would like to read. I'm not necessarily saying I'll read them SOON, but they are books that have been popping up in my mind lately. Is another ...
