It seemed simple enough on paper, in the school yard, and yet when it comes down to staring at the piece of paper on my desk, I can’t do it. Reviving the millinery tradition. I make hats that range from everyday, to derby day fabulous, to tiny hats that fancy themselves to be teapots. Much of the shaping of my hats happens in the sewing process, which requires both hand and machine sewing. I use a vintage cast-iron, milliner's sewing machine.
