Anthony Wong and Brian Heberley. Hydrostatic bearings are able to achieve high stiffness and damping with low friction. However, these improved performance characteristics come with the cost of a complex fluid routing and supply system. This project seeks to develop a new hydrostatic bearing to support shafts.
