Getting Involved In Politics: Yes You Can—And Should. Recently, I wrote an article published in the UofT Magazine (Summer 2010 issue) called “Where are the Women? Who knows better the challenges facing the thousands of new immigrants coming to Canada than people who have been through that experience? Who better to understand the pressing needs of innovation and entrepreneurship, and the challenges facing small and medium businesses, than people with business experience? 8212;but ultimately very rewarding...

Election Day, Sunday, February 7, 2010. This was the big day, the day Ukrainians chose a new President. As is now public, our collective observations showed an election that indeed reflects the will of the people, and, based on over 90% of the votes counted, Viktor Yanukovich appears to have won, but by a slim margin of only about 2%. The conduct of this election shows that Ukranians have embraced democracy, and I was proud to have participated even in a small way. Links to this post. Colour in the alley...

Martha Hall Findlay and Team: Où sont les femmes?
http://teammhf.blogspot.com/2010/08/ou-sont-les-femmes.html

Young Liberals to Copenhagen. Last week we posted a note on Facebook about Hillary’s fundraising efforts to get her to Copenhagen for the COP-15 UN Climate Change Conference where she will represent the Young Liberals as a member of the IFLRY delegation. This followed some fun and impromptu support we gave Hillary when she came to a Willowdale Pub night:. I also want to encourage everyone to help Elizabeth Dubois (yes, I am biased because Elizabeth works part time in my Office in Ottawa! Donate to the 20...

Remembrance, Reflection- -and Respect for our Veterans. November is when we pause to remember those who have fought for us in past and present wars; those who are still doing so in Afghanistan and in peace missions in other parts of the world; those who have come home, but injured in body and spirit; and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in giving their lives. WE WILL BECOME INVISIBLE” - MHF on scrapping mandatory census. I am, with this letter, asking everyone to speak out against the Harper government’s decision to scrap the long-form census form. Write to the PM, to Minister Clement, to your MP (yes, me too). Call in to talk radio shows. Join facebook protests. Write letters to the editors of your local papers. We need Canadians to say “no” to this decision. None of which were upheld. By far the majority of Canadians believe in peace, order and good governm...
