Salt is born of the purist of parents: the sun and the sea - Pythagoras. Maritime Salt Makers of Canada. We looked for local sea salt to add to the herbs we were growing in the backyard for a food rub. We wanted to make a product to join with the growing local food movement at Nova Scotia's farmer's markets. We couldn't find any. so we tried boiling some sea water to make some ourselves. It takes a lot of energy to boil the ocean! So we experimented with the sun and solar stills. It really is magic to us.
