Oral examination accept category No. 2 are conducted by Mercantile Marine Department for issuance of Certificate of Competency to the following categories under Induction Rules for Technical Personnel of Merchant Marine - 1998: -. DIESEL MECHANIC / FITTER. 1ST CLASS / 2ND CLASS ENGINE DRIVERS / MASTERS. Eligibility requirement are given in the Induction Rules. After verification of Technical / Academic documents/ Certificates the examination of above categories conducted on first Monday of every month.

PROCEDURE FOR TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF FISHING BOATS/CRAFTS. Transfer of ownership form for transferring the boat (photographs of seller and buyer to be affixed in the form) both parties to sign. Photo copies of C.N.I.C.(Computerized National Identity Card) of seller and buyer. Photocopy of sale agreement on stamp paper. Application from seller for measurement inspection. LSA/FFA and transfer of ownership fee should be paid prior appearing before Registrar.

To achieve the objectives, fulfillment of its statutory role and International obligations. The functions of Mercantile Marine Department are:-. Registration of Ships and Crafts as per Merchant Shipping Ordinance. Statutory surveys/inspections and issuance of certificates to Merchant Ships, Fishing vessels and Harbor crafts. For port clearance to all ships sailing out of Pakistani Ports. Examination and approval of plans for loading dangerous cargoes as per IMDG. Code and Compliance inspection thereof.
