Andy in America: June 2007
http://smellyirishman.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 26, 2007. Out of the ordinary. Saturday was spent back in Coney Island for the mermaid parade. I thought I had missed the parade since it occurs on the first Saturday of the summer, but apparently the summer doesn't start at the start of June like I was told? Dar be scurvy pirates all along these here parades; yar. In keeping with PG13. Costume made from discarded metro cards. Very impressive; wouldn't you agree Sinead? That's what kids are for. We proclaimed, suicidally. After another walk...

Andy in America: November 2010
http://smellyirishman.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 25, 2010. What a difference a day makes. If I had been writing this blog on Tuesday instead of Thursday you'd be getting a much different show! Fortunately there has been some more signs of promise today and yesterday so I'm happy as I sit down and write this! The last week has consisted of a lot of sitting in the room for the day, refreshing craigslist and job sites looking for any new postings. She just refused to sit nice and still for a decent picture. Boards on the walls detailing...

Monday, October 18, 2010. Glimmer of hope, beginning to settle. Rule #1; Set up camp where ever one can find free internet. Rule #2; Never refuse free food. (Library breakfast drive). Rations for the first couple of days. The only picture of Vancouver that I have so far! My hotel room at the start of the trip. It's not North America without a gallon of ice-cream. It's not a metal gig without. seating? Cats welcome me to the new apartment. Posted by Andy at 19:07. Monday, October 04, 2010. Only the gate f...

http://p2r95.blogspot.com/1995/09/gallia-est-omnis-divisa-in-partes-tres.html
Paris to Rome 1995. Friday, 1 September 1995. Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres. Date 01- Sept 1995. Ave speed (kph) 18.1. Max speed (kph) 56.6. Max Height (m) 440. Today climb (m) 1045. Was up and about before the hotel staff this morning but the wait was worth it for the breakfast - the sort of breakfast I had expected in France - a great big cup of milky coffee and lots of fresh bread. I could have stayed in this town all day but there was a long way to go so I set off again. At. Then I rolled in...

Sunday, October 28, 2007. Two Tourists, if Proof were needed. Yes, you are absuolutely right. In the early hours of this morning, the Boston RedSox won the 2007 World Series, sweeping the Rockies 4 and 0 in the best of 7 series. Just had to publish a day early this week as I know you just wanted to be sure that your newly adopted team won through. Whether you wanted to or not you have followed their adventure since June. Next morning we ‘did’ Stavanger much as we had done Oslo previoulsly, bu...Next we d...

Arctic Bikes: November 2007

Monday, November 5, 2007. But you see the only snag was that when we. The trick was to guess correctly whether to aim above it or below it before were reached each other. The lorry immediately behind me did not allow for a stop option. I went right, which also proved to be correct as and the box snaked left and I stopped in the hard shoulder further on. Amazing the effect shock has on the body! From that warm June morning on a Dublin quayside to this cold November night, it's been a pleasure. Paris to Ro...

Arctic Bikes: July 2007
http://arctic07.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2007. A whale of a time. Today we headed for Ǻlesund. But first things first. Down to the single computer in the lobby to access Andy in America and see what he had been up to in the previous week. That was the week of the Puerto Rico Parade. Seamus was in Ballinskelligs. Now he's somewhere in the mountains of NW Ireland! But it was also a feature of this trip that each corner brought a new experience. We arrived at the first Ferry (Anda to Lote) as it was pulling in. Great timing!

Andy in America: May 2007

Wednesday, May 30, 2007. A weekend to remember. Management would like to sincerely apologise for the disruption to your regularly scheduled blog but we are now back in operation and urge you to sit back, get comfortable and read. I'll cut to the chase since you're such an impatient bunch! It was painful to sit there, hot, hot, hot. The sight of so much water was torturous, it was very, very tempting. A very cool building beside the White House. Canal beside our hotel in Georgetown. Jefferson was a big guy.
