Diagnosis | Living With PCS

https://livingwithpcs.wordpress.com/diagnosis

How to Diagnose Post Concussion Syndrome. PCS is hard to diagnose. The brain damage caused by a mild brain injury is so slight that many tests cannot detect it. It is important to see a doctor with special training in brain injury. These doctors are called neurologists, neuropsychologists, and neurosurgeons. To find one of these doctors, call a local head injury foundation for a referral. Your doctor will ask questions about:. Your personal and family medical history. Recent missed work or school. Notify...

Symptoms | Living With PCS

https://livingwithpcs.wordpress.com/symptoms

Symptoms of Post Concussion Syndrome. PCS symptoms vary from person-to-person. If you experience any of these symptoms do not assume it is due to PCS. These symptoms may be caused by other, less serious health conditions. If you experience any one of them, see your doctor. Symptoms include:. Being very sensitive to noise and/or light. Mood swings-a quick change in mood (eg, being happy to becoming very sad). Becoming easily irritated or annoyed for little or no reason. Feeling tired all the time.

Why Can’t People Understand? | Living With PCS

https://livingwithpcs.wordpress.com/2012/07/10/why-cant-people-understand

Is There Life In There? Why Can’t People Understand? July 10, 2012. I had my routine doctor’s visit yesterday in hopes of receiving a note relieving me from duty a bit longer. Boy, did I get what I bargained for! She barely looked at my symptom list and quietly read my doctor’s note. After she read it she questioned to where was the modified restrictions form? She wasn’t getting it! Still not satisfied. She insisted on speaking with my GP. I signed a consent form. Since she’s spoken wit...It’s been...

Living With PCOS

This is a blog to document my struggle with PCOS and LPD. Sunday, August 22, 2010. Good News Turned Devastating. I was feeling pretty down until Wednesday. Not only struggling with my feelings regarding the miscarriage, but then thinking about DD. Somehow, she thought she was getting a baby brother. Now what do I tell her? I didn't get to see my baby at all. As soon as I found out for sure I was pregnant, I found out I was losing the baby. A brother. That almost made me cry. Does DD know somethin...I had...

Living with PCOS

Monday, 24 October 2011. Today both S and I had a tough day. I found out that one of my friends divorced. It shocked me a little- last time I saw him and his wife, they seemed very much in love and very much happy. Oh well, I guess you never know what happens behind closed doors. Anyway, S wanted some comfort food- pork curry. Today I cooked it for the first time- but it was delicious (If I may say so myself). You serve it with rice. The food was quite delicious but:. Sunday, 23 October 2011. I created m...

Living With PCS

July 23, 2012. I had my visit with the Neurologist and it wasn’t what I was expecting at all! I met my contact from the Brain Injury Clinic there and we went over the symptoms that weren’t there before followed by my new diagnosis of PTSD. After a while I finally got to see the Neuro. I walked into his office and there he was with 3 interns. Laughing and joking as I walked in. He began testing reflexes, balance tests and he examined my arms, neck and scalp/skull. But This is the Hand that I Shoot With.

But This is the Hand that I Shoot With. My journey and struggle through the life changes attributed to the onset of Parkinson's Disease. Sunday, December 14, 2014. Come gather round folks. As our tale does begin. Welcome all friends,. Some 10 years ago. My body more agile. My legs not yet this slow,. My ego not fragile. Then I was just forty-eight. Too blind to foresee. What would be my fate. One day I did realize. My handwriting was small. My assistant said,. I noticed when driving,. In front of me,.

Every Day PDA

Living life with Pathological Demand Avoidance. Wednesday, 22 July 2015. Walking the PDA tightrope. how on earth do you parent? I am about to comment on something I didn't watch! My views are based on a comment placed on a facebook page from someone who did watch it! Tenuous I know, but it gave me food for thought! I fully agreed with the majority of these comments. Many parents forgo these things just to keep the peace with their child. So as a parent are you doing the right thing? But is it right?

Living with Peace & Purpose – Where Life meets Love!

Living with Peace and Purpose. Where Life meets Love! The gift of Mercy…. July 6, 2016. July 6, 2016. One of my personal weaknesses is that I sometimes get so caught up in stressful situations that I tend to overlook the good things in life. you know, those small, but ever-so-sweet and treasured moments that make life special. A couple of weeks ago I had one of those moments! To not even receive the slightest “Thank you”. You see, somehow this little word kept creeping into our lives. Controlling our...
