Following my journey to health
It’s been one month | Living Large in a Thin World
https://livinglargeinathinworld.wordpress.com/2014/08/06/its-been-one-month
Living Large in a Thin World. Following my journey to health. It’s been one month. August 6, 2014. New haircut and color. Well, it’s been a month on this transformation journey. I’ve had some ups and downs, but I think I’m finally getting the hang of this! So this is a report of how it’s going. So being the addictive personality that I am, I started out spending too much time on the scales. Which translated into daily ups and downs. Not good for morale! Pat on the back! I CAN DO THIS! To keep track. ...
I Feel Sad | Living Large in a Thin World
https://livinglargeinathinworld.wordpress.com/2014/08/09/i-feel-sad
Living Large in a Thin World. Following my journey to health. August 9, 2014. I’m feeling sad tonight. Don’t get me wrong….my transformation is moving along nicely. My eating plan is going well, my tiny efforts at exercising are progressing slowly but surely, I’m losing weight. But I must admit that, even though I’m a Professional Photographer, I avoid being in front of a camera like the plague! I must be totally honest….I don’t know what to do with these feelings. I feel like I’...My life has to ch...

Post Op: 1 Month | The Rubenesque Hippo
https://rubenesquehippo.wordpress.com/2015/06/30/post-op-1-month
2016 Reading Challenge Book List. Post Op: 1 Month. Asymp; 1 Comment. I’m sad, depressed, angry…a myriad of emotions. I’m at the one month mark and I’m only down 15 pounds. The first 3 months is the time you are suppose to be losing the quickest. I see these other women posting in my various support groups where they are down 60-80 pounds in the first 3-4 months…this sucks. On a positive note, I am going to my first yoga class tomorrow! Perfectionism | The Rubenesque Hippo

2016 Reading Challenge Book List. Asymp; 3 Comments. I started to write a post about perfectionism…but I just couldn’t get into it. I’ve been thinking a lot about writing lately. Mainly that I miss it! There are times I’m embarrassed to even publish my posts here, I usually feel they are so unrefined and rough that I shouldn’t publish them until I have go over and over them…but I fight the urge and publish them anyway, grammar be damned. Alone Time – Yoga Time | The Rubenesque Hippo
https://rubenesquehippo.wordpress.com/2015/08/15/alone-time-yoga-time
2016 Reading Challenge Book List. Alone Time – Yoga Time. Asymp; Leave a comment. I find myself trying to steal time away to be alone. I never seem to be alone any more, at least not in a meaningful way. My sister, the baby, my parents or my clients are always nearby. There is a difference between going to your room with other people in the house and being the only one in the house. I have gained strength without a doubt over the last month of doing yoga, and I’m holding onto my flexibility as I lo...

2016 Reading Challenge Book List. Stress Management Part 2. Asymp; Leave a comment. Life after Gastric Sleeve. So I got up and went to a 7:30am water aerobics class. I was the youngest person there, but the group is awesome! They start their class by holding hands and having a short prayer. A very nice friendly group. I’m hoping I can go again next week. I’m trying not to let K know how much I enjoyed it as I’m sure she will try to keep me from going…. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Notify me of new c...
6 Weeks Post Op | The Rubenesque Hippo
https://rubenesquehippo.wordpress.com/2015/07/13/6-weeks-post-op
2016 Reading Challenge Book List. 6 Weeks Post Op. Asymp; Leave a comment. It’s hard to believe that it has been 6 weeks since surgery. It seems so long ago, yet it happened yesterday. There are still things I’m struggling with on a daily basis. I’m trying to curb my natural tendency to obsess/over think over things. I’m not sure I have been this overwhelmingly exhausted since I needed a blood transfusion 4 years ago right before my hysterectomy. I’m only sleeping 4-6 hours a night. Larr; Previous post.

2016 Reading Challenge Book List. Because Life isn’t Stressful Enough. Asymp; 1 Comment. I got rear ended today. K and the Tiny Dictator were with me. No one was seriously hurt. I’ve got some minor muscle pain, and K tweaked her lower back/hip. She got checked out at the ER and they have her some of the good pills and sent her home with orders to go and sit in the jacuzzi at the gym. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. 2016 Reading Challenge Book List. Rebounding from a HORRIBLE day. Asymp; 2 Comments. All Dogs Go To Heaven. Yesterday was one of the worst days I’ve had in a very long time. I had to put down my baby, Sparky. He was 4 years old. It’s my fault he had to be put down. I didn’t do the things I needed to do when he was a puppy to ensure he would grow up to be a happy and healthy dog. Sparky, age 4 months. Rest in Peace Sparky…For you I believe in the Rainbow Bridge, because all dogs go to Heaven! You are comm...
SCOTUS Rules! | The Rubenesque Hippo

2016 Reading Challenge Book List. Asymp; Leave a comment. End of the World as we know it. The Supreme Court Of The United States ruled today that no State may keep same sex couples from getting married and must recognize their unions. Today was both a sad day and a day of triumph depending on where you are sitting. I’m excited for my GLBT friends and Family! Everyone deserves the joys of legal marriage, divorce, alimony and child support! Says the perpetually single woman). Larr; Previous post. Kate'...

Living Large (in a small house)
Living Large (in a small house). General entertaining, cooking, decorating, renovating and whatever other I feel inclined to divulge to the world. Since we live in a typical vintage bungalow in Central Austin, my overall theme is that living well does not require massive square footage - only a bit of thoughtfulness and a little effort. Sunday, November 4, 2012. Another year has passed. Difficult to believe, isn't it? An entire year has passed since I last posted! On a slightly separate, but related note;.

First Grade's a Hoot
Sunday, August 31, 2014. A New Approach to Scheduling. I'm hoping to join DeeDee's Peak at My Week. Linky tomorrow so today I wanted to share my schedule with you guys. I'm don't know about you but each year I feel rushed to squeeze everything in and guilt over not giving some content the time it deserves. In an effort to avoid as much of that as I could this year I came up with the following scheduling method. First I recreated our 8 period schedule onto two pieces of poster board. I'm over a week late ...
